Terry, you know I love your work. Far beyond my talents. The real spectacular part is the hood. Can't even imagine how many hours in that. I have to agree though, the headlights, while cutting edge, IMHO don't match the character of the rest of the car. Have you considered something like the ones on the Viper? The beauty of new cars is the variaty of headlight shapes available in the junk yards these days. Hope you don't mind the critique. icon_smile.gif I know you weren't looking for one when you posted.

D'oh! Don't dis his choice of headlights, guys! I saw a pic a while back of the car 3/4 angle from the front, and I can tell you the WHOLE package fits together very nicely, thank you. I love the idea of small projector headlights since they look modern, yet are round so they have a classic flavor (in a strange way). The whole car is kind of like a preternatural Z. I just love it. Excellent job, Terry! icon_smile.gif

DavyZ hit the nail on the head. I still wanted the round lights for the traditional Z appproach, but the smaller diameter gave a "meaner, more brutish" appearance. I seriously considered the original size lights, but without the steel fender's support, and not wanting to add much more weight to the front (fabricating larger headlight supports) holding the bigger lights further out toward the corners, I decided against it. Lastly, I will fabricate clear covers for these smaller ones, and the other OEM light option would have prevented this. The fiberglass fender's shape disallowed the use of the normal covers even if I did put the lights at the corners.

I like the small lights! Terry, could you also email me the process you did to make that front end? I am starting to buy fiberglass books etc, but would like to hear some first hand experience. Am also planning lights like that but a little different, as a bolt on bucket to the stock front end. It's only in the "dreaming" phase though!

Here is an old shot of the parking/turn signal lights. While I was at it I decided to add what the car looks like as I write (primed part of it today being we had a warm day). RacerX; the foam seal on my filler assembly is simply sticky back weather striping 1/2" wide and 1/4" thick, and even lacquer thinner does not hurt it. Finally got the entire filler tube hard mounted to the cell this afternoon (while the primer was drying) and it works great. I'll post a pic of it soon.

Just brutal lookin' Terry! icon_biggrin.gif

I will venture out in to the world of composites and fiberglass as soon as I get the garage whipped into shape. I'll start with the spoiler and then go to rear tail lights. I like your choice of the signal lights too--they work so well with the vents in the front end. Piece of art I tell you.
