19762802+2
People are running Rota RB's on that size and if you search about it you will find the offsets I believe it is -13 front and -19 back but you should search just to be sure.
Kyle S.
i think the RBs are only 9.5 tho
19762802+2
You need about 4.5" backspace all the way around. Also if you call watanabe and tell them what car your doing it for etc. I'm sure they will be glad to help you figure out exactly what you need to do for backspace/offset. Kyle S.
awesome thanks!
280zjoel
You might want to double check, but I dont think they make watanabe's in 17inch for that specific type.
KnightoftheRound
Hes right, RS Watanabe only makes the R wheels in 16 at largest diameter. Which is fine for me, because IMO anything above 16" wheels looks like s*** on anything pre-Z31. Get 16x9 -13 and 16x9.5 -19. Those are the lowest offsets available from Watanabe usually. They have a custom order form though with 17s selectable on the drop down arrow.. you should give them a call, they have a California based phone number on their site. Those are the sizes this Z has: http://www.superstreetonline.com/featuredvehicles/130_0711_1970_datsun_240z/index.html
dsommer
WOW!!! I can't wait to see these wheels once you get them. You must have some deep pockets for those wheels.

240Z_Master
17" R-Type Watanabe's don't really exist
19762802+2
thinkin of orderin some custom wantanabes for my S30 I think this is the part in his message that explains the point how he will get 17" Watanabe R-Types, If it is possible to custom order. Personally I would save myself the hassle and just buy the Rota RB or RB-R's from the group buy because the come in the correct offset, are 17", and Look similar to the R-Type but more of a flat lip. http://www.forumshawaii.net/vbb/showthread.php?p=6438082 Found this also they aren't R-Type but they are 8 Spoke. My point is that RS-Watanabe doesn't carry an R-Type mold for 17"... they have everything from 13-16 from what I gathered when I had a wholesale account with Takumi Project... and I sold at least 5 sets of Watanabe's to HybridZ members

If it was I'm sure it would be very expensive.

Kyle S.
lol well they have 17's and the choice of type R's in the drop down menu, so they must be able to do it, whether or not itd be worth the price or not i still dont know, but if its anything rediculous id just get the 16x9.5s all around. KnightoftheRound
^ Anything larger than 16s on a S30-S130 looks silly anyway, unless your into your car looking like a Hotwheels or Matchbox car. imo.
