900ss
Asked this on the uk forum but no deffo answer so asking you guys Can someone confirm if the 240, 260 and poss your later 280z 2 seater outer rear qarter panels are the same and can interchange? i.e if you was just to use the outer skin I know the v early 240 had a diffo door latch mech and the "inner" petrol flap area hole is diffo Not sure if its just the retainer hole/neck ring thats diffo or not? (Think your 280 was diffo around the bumper side area to the uk cars) But was the main outer quarter skin the same between the 3? Anyone fitted a 240 quarter to a 260 or even 280z without issue ? at-jefft
Swapping quarter panels shouldn't be a problem. The only difference is that everything after early 260z don't have side cut outs for bumpers. I'm nearly positive its only a cosmetic difference and shouldn't be a problem.
bobbyc
the inner portion has the indent for the indent on the quarter for the bumper on 240/260 quarters, and as you said the door jam area is different. depending on the year 240...it might not have the vent behind the quarter where the emblem goes. and a minor part is the rear roll pan...the 260/280 hve the bumper support coming through the roll pan so it has the holes...if it's on a 240 you will have to do a little metal work to fil those in and have the little lip the rear roll pan sits in and is spot welded to.
