GOTHALOSISM
My stock plastic Slave cylinder is no good. Has any one used the aluminumn slaves for a WC t-5?
z2go
I'm pretty sure that the WC also uses a plastic slave cylinder, at least that is what was on mine. I'm currently in the process of doing THIS: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/47635-alternate-bw-t5-clutch-slave-set-up/page__hl__thomaz+alternative
Geking
I second that this is a good setup. I have about 500 miles on this setup and it has treated me well. Additionally, it was the only real way (without using a slave throwout) to get the clutch arm to move with my 168 tooth flywheel.
GOTHALOSISM
Looks like I'll end up going this way as well.
chunk
Is there any reason you guys are avoiding the use of an aftermarket slave cylinder from Autozone? IS fitment really that much of an issue as to resort to a pull style slave cylinder? There is an aluminum bodied SC made by Brakeware that is about $40 at autozone. Part number 10380. A quick good search yielded good reports from camaro owners who were looking to replace the plastic junk. I havent done a test fit with my T5, but the JTR manual would have me believe a stock style slave cylinder would work fine.

The reason I am avoiding the stock cylinder setup is because with ThomaZ's solution, you don't have to hammer out the transmission tunnel to get it to fit, and it's been proven to work well. It wasn't too hard to fab up everything needed to make the swap, either. The JTR manual is good, but it doesn't mention that the slave cylinder is prone to failure, which seems to be the case. Any reviews on the Autozone cylinder and how it holds up?
GOTHALOSISM
Thats the one I am talking about. I'll get that first and see how it does since it is local and cheaper. Plus having a 280z I might not have to hammer out the tunnel that much.

gvincent
Search, it has been covered before, I have the Aluminum AutoZone T5 slave cylinder in my T56, no problems for 2 years now.
chunk
Search, it has been covered before, I have the Aluminum AutoZone T5 slave cylinder in my T56, no problems for 2 years now. I have searched, but its difficult because the search function doesnt allow for terms less than two characters long. Adding "T5" to the search terms isnt allowed. Simply searching for "slave cylinder" brnigs up ALOT of unrelated topics. Thanks for the input though. Edited July 28, 2010 by chunk

John Scott
Search button is almost magic I found one a decade ago for the T5 bell housing: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/6532-slave-cylinder-for-a-t-56/page__p__48290__hl__slave+cylinder__fromsearch__1#entry48290 http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/6810-help-clutch-problems-holding-me-up/page__st__20__p__50188__hl__slave+cylinder__fromsearch__1#entry50188 http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/6408-metal-not-plastic-slave-cyl/page__p__47575__hl__ford+clutch+master__fromsearch__1#entry47575 ford master for T5 clutch: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/6316-t5s/page__p__47072__hl__ford+clutch+master__fromsearch__1#entry47072 http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/6322-yo-lee/page__p__47114__hl__ford+clutch+master__fromsearch__1#entry47114 http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/6327-clutch-master-cylinder-solution-for-t5s/page__p__47123__hl__ford+clutch+master__fromsearch__1#entry47123 10 years old and still relevant. Mine is untouched, metal and no issues. Somewhere in the archives there is info regarding the use of a Ford F150 clutch master. One hole altered in the firewall, 3 minutes with a drill (?), and bolts up. This system has proven to be flawless since 2000.
