lowdown Posted August 25, 2010 Share Posted August 25, 2010 I was looking at the full caps for the s30 dashes and was thinking, can you just take out the factory one and use some mounts and just use it. Then there would be plenty of room to put a Vintage AC unit under it. It might be obvious that it won't work if it was in front of me, but its not thus my question to the experts. 19762802+2 Posted August 25, 2010 Share Posted August 25, 2010 My bet is that the plastic couldn't handle the weight of the guages etc. Plus I don't think you would be able to mount the glove box door, and the holes for everything are most likely a little oversized to fit around the stock holes. The best thing I can think of if you wanted to save some weight and keep a stock look is take the Foam stock dash cover off and make brackets onto that and eliminate the stock metal frame.
