lndshark81
Hey All, Research has come up unpromising about the 240z dash frame differences. I only found information on the cosmetic differences: the cross and hazard switch. Does anyone know if a 72 dash will fit a 73 without any problems/fabrication? The frames look identical frames, except for the mounting points (?) in the lower left and right hand corners. There's plate with a threaded insert and the earlier one has only a hole. The pictures with the pad on the frame comes off a 73 and the bare frame comes off a 72. Can you tell me if the 72 will bolt up okay? Or does that hole serve a purpose? As I don't have a car to determine the difference. Thanks! Huy Edited October 22, 2010 by lndshark81
NylonAdmiral
I know this thread is old but does anyone know if the two different dashes can be swapped over? I've just run into the exact same problem. The dashboard I've just removed from my car doesn't have the mounting pads described above but the replacement one does. It looks like I should be able to just cut the pads off and everything will be OK. Before I do that, does anyone know if this works? Thanks
NylonAdmiral
I couldn't find an answer on this anywhere so decided just to cut the pads off and try it myself. I thought I'd post here again in case anyone else comes across the same problem. If you cut the pads off, the dash will fit OK. Here's how I did mine.
