DeLorean
First, the obligatory "I searched".
I really did, and I found some interesting stuff, specifically S30TRBOs thread, but I remain unclear on the issue:

Can you fit 16x9 Watanabes (-13 offset) on a stock rear fender (rolled of course, so not totally stock). The car will be running coilovers soon, and the front 16x8 0 offset should fit fine in the front, I just wanted to get some peoples opinions on the matter. Here is an image I found around here of an orange S30 in Japan with what could be 16x9s in the rear without flares, but I can't be sure, I thought I read somewhere it is running 9s.

Thanks for any info you throw my way, photos are always fun for everyone, heh... surfer.tech
I thought the max you can run is 16x8 0 offset in the rear? it would also depend alot on your tires.
DeLorean
Comfortably, I think you are right. I am running 16x8 -10 offset now with I think a 7mm spacer in the rear, and the tire is pretty flush with the wheel well. I wonder if the right degree of camber and a little stretch on the tire would do the trick though...I am plenty sure a lot of you guys hate the stretched look, can't say that I blame you either because I would love to run a meatier tire. I realize I want the best of both worlds and things just don't work that way. From what I am reading and looking at though, 8.5 in the rear might work. 19762802+2
If you want the positive gains from a larger tire and wider wheel, what is the purpose if your going to negate those positive gains by stretching a tire and changing the camber to make it work? either stick with what you have or run some flares. 2 wrongs don't make a right. The reason most people on this forum don't like the stretched "look" is because it doesn't have anything to do with performance and is also unsafe because you are using something against what it is designed for plus you will have a hard time finding a reputable tire shop to put tires that are too small for the rims on your car. If you want to run wider tires and wheels just go with flares, its not that big of a job and can look just as good and then you have the added benefit of the right tire on a wider rim. inZane 240
Do what you want. "Haters gonna hate." Without adjustable control arms & some kind of camber plate, you're definetly going to have to roll the fender and run a stretched tire. Stretched tires are fine as long as you use some common sense & do your research. If you're not into the stretched tire thing, do what the gentleman above stated. DeLorean
I've found a couple photos that seem to support 8.5s fitting in the rear, which is the direction I might go in. Anyone else have any thoughts?
