my 240z project...its been 2.5 years and counting

Recommended Posts

Heres a little story about this car. About 2.5 years ago i bought my 73 240z with intentions of repairing some rust issues. Now at first i started thinkin ahhh i need to repair the floors then after that it was repair the battery tray then the rear deck lid and so on and so on. That is until i said to myself the hell with it lets do a whole restoration and a ls swap..and thats where we begin

:) thats just the beginning! the project jus picked up again this year!

At this point im at a standstill due to some financial issues but as soon as i get some cash the project will be up and goin again!

  • 2 weeks later...

there is alot of rust on that car. it's not a blue and gold vintage calif plate so it may have spent some time

in the rust belt before coming to calif. what the heck is that little spray bottle, por 15?

its actually epoxy primer :)

i used por 15 for the floors

Please, elaborate.

I have zero qualms getting under a car on a stand/rotisserie I've built from scratch!

I agree....i made sure the welds/metal was thick enough and so far its held up after a year!!

right now im in the process of finding a roll cage kit that i can weld in somewhere around 10 point with some modifications of course so i can get in and out of the car easily.

Any ideas fellas?

Nothin too expensive either..

And some more pics will come with progress!!

It was a calif car the only problem was that it was in the city of pacifica(right by the beach)

Spent 5 years on mine and it didn't have that much rust. It's better to take your time and do it right the first time.

True im just anxious to see it on all 4 wheels again!

im using a buddys garage right now to store it so time is of the essence.
