alexandermwick
Ive got a 75 280z coupe and both doors will not close all the way. There is about a 1/2 inch gap on the passenger side and almost an inch or the driver side. I have no experience with door locking mechanisms. I've been playing around with it and cant seem to figure it out. Any one else experience anything like this or know what the cause could be? Thanks

deja
Remove the door hatch that screws onto the body door jam and see if they will close all the way without those attached. They should close flush with the rear fenders with no effort. If they do just play around with those latches until they close right. Its trial and error, go in a little at a time, its a fine line. If not you have some serious door misalignments or worse possibly some structural damage.
alexandermwick
The issue ended up being a combination of bad weatherstripping and the door striker misaligned. Thanks for all the help!
