Those Bathust's look saweet. I really would like to se my Z sitting on those wheels. I noticed, however, that the ones on ebay are 5-lug. The picture I posted are 4-lug. You did mention that different Aussie companies made those wheels.

I found the wheels, they are ATC Classics.

SLO is a long way from S.F. My girlfriend got a great job working for Venteran's Affairs in San Bruno, just south of The City. I have one year of college left, so I transfered from Cal Poly to S.F. State to finish. Actually S.F. State is a better school for my major anyway. The City is totally different. I enjoy all the extra night life and music that comes through here, but you really pay a price in traffic, cost of living and attitude--big city folk ya know.

Yeah they charged another $20 to just take of the resonator. This whole endeavor has now cost me $210. And I'm still left with the Dynomax super turbo muffler, which is not one of those straight thru styles. What I should have done is order an ultra flow muffler from Summit for $69 and have that installed for $60. Craaaaaaap!!!!! Oh well. it's a good thing I am filthy, filthy rich.

The resonator is baffled, so that is probably going to hurt me. The muffler is just some "turbo" muffler. I don't know if it's actually any good.

Yeah I think I did come off a little harsh last night. This move to S.F. has been a real change from living in a small town. I should have just racked out instead of getting frustrated at trivialities, I appoligize. Well I got a muffler and a resonator put on my car today and I think it has made a noticable decrease in power. I was hesitant to put the resonator on the car, but the shop guy said it would not make a difference in performance, and I was so deperate to get away form open exhaust I did not reseach the possible detriment. Now I can't tell if it's just that my car is so quiet that I think it's slower, or it is actually in fact slower. Before, when I punched it in first, I hardly had enough time to think before breaking the tires loose into second. Now it seems that I can meditate all the way through first, and third is puting me to sleep. Any thoughts on resonators hindering performance. I searched the subject, but was unable to turn out concrete oppinions on the topic.

I misspelled, but you what just forget it. This has not turned out to be any fun. I was excited about my project I recently finished, but I'll go chat with Classic Z guys; they're still young at heart.

The motor is a stock 1983 L28et with stock ECU matted to a stock 1971 4-speed tranny. The only mods are the 3" downpipe and the popoff valve was replaced with a 1" pug. Mr. Insane you were joking when you said 320whp, right? I've seen many posts from you and I know you know more about these motors than that, right? With that much power I could potentially outrun a Viper. I've driven a Viper and there is no way my Datsun is at that caliper, yet that is.

I recently got my '71 240zxt running well. The '83 turbo motor is totally stock except for the 3" downpipe and open exhaust. The motor is matted to a 240z 4-speed. I am playing with the 1/4 mile calculator in the miscellaeneous forum and trying to figure out what my time would roughly be. Any ideas how much power this motor is cranking out at the flywheel, and or to the wheels?

I just wrote this long reply and lost it due to technology. Anyway, stick with a plan. I was going the na route, but decided on turbo and will not look back. If you need help turboing your car let me know.

I would search Z websites before spending $300 on a manifold. I spent $420 on a complete '83 L28ET with ECU and it hauls azz in my '71Z. Typically, a perfectly fine, used turbo manifold sells for between $75-$150. Just spend some time looking around and you can't go wrong.

I just got my 240zxt running and am now concerned about the 1" plug that is in the manifold inplace of the POV. My '83 turbo motor is stock and running well, should I be worried about engine compression do to this modification? I have read that the POV is a last resort, failsafe mechanism in case the wastegate "goes crazy." I'm not sure what a wastegate going crazy means. Anyway, I don't want to damage my new setup, should I get a POV?

I finally found my Chiltons; you're right Okimoto. I've never done a clutch before. My last two cars were automatics. Sweet maybe I can burn some rubber tomorrow

Do you mean that rod that comes through the firewall that has a C-clamp on it? Do you know which way this push-rod should be ajusted to increase clutch to flywheel pressure?

I do not want to have to pull the engine again. I checked my clutch ajustment at the pedal and it's as far out as it will go. I don't think there is anywhere else to ajust it.

I have a stock 240z clutch setup matted to a '83zxt.

I'm a little embarrassed here as I am learning, but is it the piolet bearing you're talking about? That big bearing that comes with the clutch kit; I did change that. As for your other suggestions, I was not aware that that could be done. Thanks for the tip, I'll look at it first thing tomorrow morning.

Isn't the 240's clutch self-ajusting? What could be ajusted?

I just installed a new stock clutch in my '71Z and it is slipping badly. Basically the clutch has no friction at all until the very top, then when it does engage is slips horribly. I just got my turbo motor running and went to take the car out for a ride after I put the new clutch in and oooooooohhh no acceleration due to clutch problem. I used the 240z flywheel and bought a 240z clutch kit for it. Any thoughts?

Thanks to you all I got my 71ZXT running. Without your help I would be totally clueless. I was having a problem with spark and it turned out to be a fried ignitor. I've read that this not a common problem so I will tell you how I can tell my ignitor was bad. First off the car would not start. But equally as obvious is when I took off the coil, bracket/ignitor, I noticed on the backside of the ignitor there was this solid, viscous-like fluid that had oozed out. I suppose bad wiring can really kill ignitors. If anyone needs help with their early ZXT just hit me up.
