What about using the Non Turbo 300 Axles and having the spline cut longer into the existing shaft so the bearing cage can move higher on it .This would effectively allow the excess to be cut off leaving a shorter axle without making a new center shaft all together . The Diff side is the same as all 300Zx cars have R200 rears and the wheel side cage has the exact 6 bolt pattern as the ZX Turbo Axle so they work with the MM Adapters .

I have an excellent Left side S30 (70-78) Fender no rust no dents and no repairs that i can detect its clean inside and out ready to sand and paint .I am looking to get $150. for it . I have another that is not rusted or dented but is not as clean on the underside (it has old undercoat on it) . that one would be $125. I can ship through Greyhound to save shipping cost .I have shipped full S30 quarter panels to Oregon for $80 so it should be under $50 to Ohio or you are welcome to pick it up . I am 15 minutes outside New York City in Zip 07055 New Jersey .

I have a 280Z motor complete with all fuel injection /distributor on it Ran excellent when pulled and stored in climate controlled garage $250 I am in the New York Metro area (New Jersey 07055)

All the 240,260 ,or 280 motors will accept your old carburetors All of the L series heads have the bolt pattern to accept carbs If you find a Fuel injected 280Z or ZX motor .

If you are having problems sealing the oil pan Nissan makes a composite Competition Oil pan gasket (motorsport sells it ) It is far superior to the cork gasket but by all means use the reinforcement strips they even out the clamping force of the bolts on the pan . Also check that the pan has not been over tightened and that the bolt holes are flat not cone shaped or pointed toward the block . A tap on each with a ball peen hammer is usually all that is needed to level them .If you need the reinforcing strips i have a spare set they would be $10 plus shipping from 07055
