i bought an adapter almost identical to the one Cjarloz has and it didnt clear the drive shaft in my zx so im going the route 240hoke did and welding my wastegate to my manifold -
will take pics this weekend and send them to whoever is interested. I dont know how to get someone to host em, so p.m. me your e-mail and ill send em out

is that true about drilling out the star pattern and running it with n/a shaft? I have been going crazy trying to find a shaft the past couple of weeks to complete my conversion

my brother shaved the bumpers off of his spitfire so i snuck in his yard at night and made off with them. After a test fit they look great but will need small degree of work to be mounted. They follow the flow of the car very well, and compilment the car much better than the ugly stock bumper and unlike the 240 bumpers it has no point. if you can find one on ebay this might be an option

i have to say that by far this is the best forum of its kind. I have asked many questions and as of yet nobody has called me a retard lol. My questions have almost always been met with adequate explanations and freindly advice. (although in the case of your answer and several others answers ive received from previous post it wasnt neccessarly the answer i wanted to hear.) But you people have kept me from doing a lot of stupid things by telling me answers i didnt want to hear. And outside of people flaming the non searchers i have seen no one be outwardly rude or distatefull to other members. Anyway just though id give this insight into my hybrid z experiance and thank you and each and every one of you that has replied to my posts. ps., Braap the personal message is a good option for me from time to time because there are some questions i feel stupid asking in the public forum becuase of my level of inexperiance, thus receiving an answer and maybe some day when i get a helpful knowlledge base going give some valuable answers of my own in the forums

Braap, I appreciate it and as i want the car to do more than idle I guess i will probably be investing in an MsNs this summer and hopefull I will be able to tackle the installation of this. Also you stated in a previous post that you would be doing this conversion on a 79 280zx with a/c this i what i will be running i have no power steering so i was going to put the edis wheel on the third pulley that would ordinarily drive that, but as far as the optical sensor i have no idea where im going to mount that so when you get around to that project i would appreciate some post of pics on that. Also whold it be ok to personal message you if i have any further questions?
-
so if all is installed correctly the edis will controll the ignion and there will be no need to upgrade to megasquirt or would it be best to first tackle the megasqirt? Really interestead in doing this this summer but need a few variables first as i am a novice at best when it comes to wrenching by the way great work so far mr. Ruschman

well when you get to it let me know lol when we can learn from others mistakes we are less likely to make the same ones our selves

Hello all and thanks ahead of time for reading my thread. Anyways i have a couple of questions that i could not find answers too so i thought i would rattle them off and see if i could fish up any answers. I have a 79 280zx and i am converting over from stock intake manifold and throttle body to a n42 intake and a 240sx throttle body. After close inspecion of my curent set up and reading the haynes manual and tracing vacume lines i have hit the road block that may de-rail my future plans. From what i understand for propper ignition timing to be maintained the vacum advance must be opperational. So my first road block is my vacume advance seems to be routed through the bcdd valve at the bottom of the throttle body if I go with the 240sx throttle body does this mean that the vacum advance will not function properly. also people have been flaming the n42 on here because it causes vapor lock in the injectors. How bad is this really? Have only seen a couple of people complaining about it. Also I was planning to leave off the air regulator will the car run without it. And lastly would any of these things before hand affect the airconditionig fast idle function.

well you have done wonders with it lol i hope mine one day looks half as decent but big big gap to fill till it does
