  1. http://www.pickupspecialties.com/Herculiner/Herculiner_brush_on_bedliner.htm Bedliner it is... the 130$ kit should coat most of the engine bay...
  2. What should I remove from the engine bay before the mounts are welded in? -- theres lots of wiring left from the L28 -- so I'm assuming all of that, and just leave the battery terminals, and the two sets of two little bottles on the side? After the welding is done, what should I have it coated in? hi-temp paint? bedliner? Thanks,
  3. that's what I thought, same thing my buddy was sayin' -- now to find a different one...
  4. it's a 327 from a 1969 Chevy Biscayne bored 30 over, needs pushrods and lifters, has the original heads. Comes with a powerglide(2 speed) transmission. Has a weened alum intake -- what ever than means, all for $1200
  5. I don't think the engine is stock, don't know much about it -- only spoke with the guy for a minute. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=TFS%2DK314%2D500%2D450&N=115&autoview=sku Looks fun. I'll get some more information tomorrow, anything I should ask? Solid lifters? He mentioned something about a different set of heads... don't recall what though.
  6. I might have a 327 soon, A friend of my dad has one, he says it's bored 30 over.. or 60 over, I don't quite remember, but it's from 1969, so I think it's one of the older 327's rated at 350hp-- I think he said the CR was 8.?:1 something, so in order to raise compression couldn't I just have the heads shaved? He hasn't given me a price yet, wants me to come out and see it first.
  7. so carbed it is or maybe that 412ci block from jnjdragracing:)
  8. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy-Small-Block-350-TBI_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33615QQitemZ8033909135QQrdZ1 does that sound like a good starting setup?
  9. In florida, they don't need a warrant to search a car...
  10. is this the B&M tranny I'm looking for? if so, which model number? http://www.bmracing.com/index.php?id=products&sid=4&cat=4&subcat=16&pid=33 and bowtieoverdrive.com doesn't seem to be a real site.
  11. e-mail sent to John at jnjdragracing.com
  12. I'd prefer not to go too overboard with a 400 CI+ block, - keep it smaller and lighter. So far this is what I've gathered: Block: 350 (what's the block code/number -- similar to N42/F54 for the L engines) Crankshaft: 3.75" Rods: 6" All of these parts seem to be cheaper and more readily avalible than the similar parts for the L series.
  13. I'm not sure how it is in your state, but here in florida, you CAN legally have a gun in your car as long as it is secured -- just be upfront with the officer about it.
  14. Post your e-mail and we'll discuss it off site -- Would this fit with the JTR kit?
  15. keeping it simple, sticking with carbs... Should I just purchase a clean block, and biuld up from there? or just get a running one, drop it in -- get it running, then pull it and biuld it? seems a little repetitive -- can't wait. I'm a at this...
  16. noted: So first just track down a 350 and a 700r4 tranny -- and years of cars I should keep an eye out for?
  17. getting alot of engine input from : http://www.zcar.com/forums/read.php?f=1&i=634874&t=634874 So as it seems the 350/383(which just has the crank of the 400 -- I think) would be the way to go with either a supercharger or a big turbo(or a TT setup) I'd probably be going with an 700r4 tranny and an R200 LSD
  18. so which engine? 327, 350, 383, 400? I'm getting mixed reviews..
  19. Cash isn't a big deal, but cheaper is nice. I'll have about 600 a month, plus the 3000K I'm getting in 2 months..
  20. I don't need it... I'd like it -- in reality I'd like 450 - 550 tops. .. a 10 - 11 second car. edit: I might be using dual VNT turbos.
  21. 1.) JTR manual is needed 2.) Automatic Transmission is cheaper than the manual (I can't drive a stick anyways) 3.) R200/R230 LSD is preferred. Does that sound about right? Goal HP is 650+. Goal Weight to HP ratio: 4.5:1 Do the JTR engine/tranny mounts need to be welded on, or just bolted?
  22. After riding in my friends badass 327 powered 240z, I'm going to drop a 327+ into my 280z -- just sounds fun... I know I would need the mounts and book from JTR -- but what about driveline/rearend changes I would need... I'm not looking for a complete list of what I'd need but it would be nice Thanks, edit: before this is locked, I am searching while waiting for replys.
  23. from what I hear ztherapy.com has a nice video avaliable, and I'm sure there is a kit..
  24. serial cable, DB9. You can also get a usb to db9 adapter if your laptop doesn't have a serial port.
  25. I'd say the crowers, I know they can handle that power range -- it's what I'm using for a 500+ hp project...
