Hello, would like to throw something out there about my zcar. Here is a few things that ill like to get some of your knowledge on. A: I have a custom intake manifold made for my turbo z car. The intake manifold has airhorns through out the plenum, with a 70mm throttle body attached to it. Here is the delema im running in to. At idle my Vacumm is right at 12 in hg. on my boost gauge and is steady. My map sensor reads -18.5 and is also steady. Why does a electric and manual gauge differ so much? The Next question i have is at the same idle. I have a whistle accuring (supercharger sound) until i have my foot a little more on it and the vacumm is approx above -10.0 the sound goes away. First thought was vacumm leak. i grabed the stethoscope to check around for vacumm leaks, I went around the injectors, throttle body, Head, exhaust manifold and im coming up with nothing. I tryed spraying all the joint parts with wd40 to see if the tone of pitch would change, once again nothing... Im running out of ideas.. (sorry this post is drawn out) Next thing i have to ask is this... Valve adjustment...Any tricks out there or should i just do the conventional way.... I originally adusted the valves cold and when its hot in goes clink clink clink.......Hum time for more work on the car.... Thanks for the advise Ron240zxt

Hello All, Got a question, My Z car runs on 3 cylindars,Sounds strong but only 3 cylindars Why the vehicle idles, I disconnect the rear fuel injector plug #6 the vehicle idles the same why disconnecting the rear connectors. Until i hit the front ones then the car bogs down again so basically the rear section is dead thought it was the wire. i reversed the wiring and it worked fine in the front. Tommorow i will pull injectors out of intake to check for fuel delivery. Any suggestions....... Thanks Ron

Ok i think i figured it out.... 10si altenator... Battery goes to battery terminal on the altenator. Terminal one has a bulb inline Series (white and black i believe)to the switched ignition wire. and terminal two goes to the battery terminal on the altenator which heads to the battery. does this sound right now? thanks Ron

Hello, I originally called today (SDSEFI) 10/10/2001 and spoke to Barry, I called because i was running into a problem that was confusing me, about 3 out of 6 injectors not firing. and was wondering about wiring information. Anyways if thinks couldnt get worse. As soon as i hung up the phone with him the coil packs on my em-3f computer smoked and fired the board under the coil packs. I went through the whole install and reassembled the whole wiring on a work bench just to varify nothing has changed sence it was running about a year ago in the vehicle. The only thing that has ever been change was changing to high imp Injectors (Mazda RX7) I emailed Ross about it and he was extremly help full on how to remove the resister packs in order to use the high imp injectors. Do you have any ideas what could be going on here. All the power supplys are at the required amp fuses. And all the grounds checked out. Im am really lost on what might of caused my coil pack to fry. Before the fire. Voltage on the sdsefi meter read why running on 3 cyl. was showing 13.4 volt.. I am so confused and dont know what to do. i need a new coil pack setup and $350.00 is kinda out of my price range for right now. Can i get away with running a DFI from a GM vehicle and will it work with the EM-3f system? Thanks for any help that you can provide. Thank you for your time. Ron Palmdale California

Thanks for the help, but my complete coil packs burned down and no longer usable..the box that houses the coil packs are distroyed What could of caused it. If thinks couldnt get worse....Any idea what i can do? Thanks, totally depressed Ron

Any idea what would cause a GM 3 Wire Altenator to charge to like 17 Volts.. Any fixes for this. its suppose to be internally regulated...... Thanks Ron

Hello all, well got the car to run better tonight, BUT!!!! im not happy, more depressed then anything. The car runs with a slight miss from idle to 3000rpm. My Fuel ration is 14.7 on a wide band o2, so looking good there. the plugs look nice and brownish, just doesnt sound right... There is also a poping noise every so offen almost non smooth pulses. the car initial timing is 22 degrees. Any Advice or help into determining what i need to do to correct this Please let me know...or any ideas what the noise is...Thank you Ron..... 38lb base fuel pressure 89-91 Rx7 injectors (550cc) L-28T with 87mm bore with 240 Rods p90 head

I run a t3/t4/spr hybrid turbo 60-1 hifi/stg V .82ar Wet/Dyn I have never had problems with spool up with this unit and for traffic light to traffic light not a problem. granted it could be the aftermarket computer. Wastegate setup, etc... that may be different from car to car. Next upgrade T64...

I have a set of injectors that are Denso 195500-2020 and im having one heck of a time finding what there out of and what there flow rate is at base psi, on the regulator. Any Help,,,,,PLease

Just wondering i need to replace my tank and was thinking of going with a fuel cell. Do they make one that will fit in the spare tire well. Reason asking i dont want to cut the tire well out, but i do need a new fuel tank that i can adapt for my z. Or any suggestions please please reply... Thanks

I have Six Mitsubishi injectors that is suppose to be rated at 550cc. Any idea what they may be out of? Also unfortunlly there high impedence...But i guess there better then my 388cc injectors..

Im just curious what is torque on a factory 280zxt rated at. Everyone talks about HP but never torque. Also how do you improve torque of a engine? Thanks Ron Just Brain storming

Hello all, just curious how you would connect a 10si altenator to your existing z car wiring. My altinator is out of a late Chevy something. It has 12v, Ground, F, R, On the back of the unit. I figured 12v battery positive, Ground is a given just have it drag on the ground..J/k ® reference isnt this the one that goes to a 12volt switch that tells the altenator to charge. And (f) I have no idea any help or correction please respond.. Thank you ROn

Ok i called AutoZone out here in CA about getting a oil pump for my Turbo zcar. Here is the kicker. Manual Oil Pump $111.99 AutoMatic oil pump $62.99 Would a automatic one work in a manual car and vise versa? Hell ive heard that the Automatic one has the same pressure as the manual one but also has a higher flow rate.. Makes me wonder can any one clear this up for me. Thanks Ron

Hey Richard, By any chance have you tried tighting the bolt a little first then lossing it up? Just a idea. I say wrap end of rachet with duct tape. And slap the End of the rachet with the 1/2 hammer while chewing on the gum. LOL Good luck Ron -

Ok Evan im confused, why do you have to replace your headgasket. Let me understand this. A: its leaking between the front cover and the head. So basiclly were the two 10mm bolts are. B: Next question when you built your engine did you stick the screen back into the engine were the block breather was. This prevents oil from splashing up and out of the breather tube. c: Whats the pin out Dude i need the knowledge man PLEASE Call me....Finishing it tommorow.. I figured Battery/Ground and the T is ? do they make a adapter that will adapt a T56 tranny to a L-28 block? If So what kind of rear end gears should i be looking at? thanks for the help Ron

Hello all again, How much flow can i get out of the factory turbo exhaust manifold before it starts restricting performance by causing back pressure. a: 300 hp b: 400hp c: 500hp This is what it comes down to. Will i be happy with the performance of a turbo header. or should i use the factory manifold. What are the advantages/disavantages between both set ups. thank you Ron
