removing charcoal canister; looks like you have four hoses coming out. 1). running to AFM to turbo hose; 2). going to intake manifold; 3). runs to or near throttle valve switch; 4). vents back to fuel tank.

I guess just plug each line and see what happens. Kinda concerned about plugging the fuel tank vent line without making sure you have an alternative vent.

I also plan on running my I/C lines same way. I have an electric fan (you have alot more room to route piping with one). I would recomend electric fan. :D

Now I don't know if you have emission control if you will be legal?

  2. Makes sense dsummer.

Never thought of it that way. Now lets be honest here did you just make that up? coollook.gif

I thought it was derived from the Greek world "sa'nos" meaning "cool breeze". Then over thousands of years its meaning was shortened to "cool". (Now that was made up) malebitchslap.gif:D

  3. That's cute as a button Scotty!

Looks like it would be pretty easy to fab. I'd like to do that! First I really like to get my Z running again.

You know if your Z ever breaks down by the side of the road. You can take that rail off and play it like a flute! :D Taps! malebitchslap.gif

  4. Sleeper is right, your nearly there already. If your going 14lbs. boost with stock injectors, I would really watch your Air/fuel gauge to make sure it won't run lean. If it does you can put on a carteck RRFPR to push more fuel out of stock injectors or just go with some SVO/Mercur 370cc. injectors (stock are 260cc.). Just a precaution be sure and retork your heads, may keep from blowing a head gasket. ScottieGNZ at one time offered really nice Downpipes for 280zxturbo engine install into the 240Z. They are not compatable for the stock 280ZXT. Further Scottie is really having problems with the guy he uses to manufactor the DP flanges. I believe he doesn't sell them anymore just because of the PITA he is having with his manufacturer.Ask Scottie he can tell you first hand.

  5. Judging from the quality of transportation (the bike in background) I expect you be hurrying on the rebuilt!!!! :D

Owch! look at that saddle! :cry2:If I'm not mistaken thats a Brooks leather saddle (I raced on those in the 70's), You have to break those in by riding 2000 miles and oil it to get it to "fit" your butt!!! ugg.gif In the meantime you'll flamedevil.gif suffer!

Meakin; I can tell you really put in alot of time on that engine. You are going to have something you will really be proud of when your done! But truly are we ever "done"! ...."Not the destination; its the journey" Good statement! You have the right frame of mind 2thumbs.gif

I also placed a K&N valve cover breather filter; Where the old (valve cover to AFM)hose connected to valve cover. When I complete installation of my I/C & BOV I plan to run directly from BOV exaust into my AFM hose where valve cover breather hose used to run. Hopefully it should work OK. Now if you you were just going to splice into the hose using a "T" then I would think a one way valve from T to valve cover would be a good idea so you won't get BOV press into crankcase when the BOV blow's

  7. AHHHHHHHHH come on Dan! at least Tim painted it for us! Look at that plywood that's good smooth finished plywood, I need that for the wall of my metal building! Tim do I really like your X member design 2thumbs.gif

I read and agree. This is just me talking but I feel the 280 hopefully should save me alot of modification of the frame. When I install my LT-1 and T-56 I like the idea of stenght in the chassis. I feel the xtra weight in the frame was well thought out. May have evolved from the need to strengthen the 240 chassis. The other weight gain from the 280 was basicly the FI, Rear end, Bumpers, smog control, which can be removed when you do the V-8 thang!!!!!!!!! :D (the rear end may not need to be changed since its a R-200) 2thumbs.gif

  9. Yea Ross I was talking about rebuilding your old strut cartridges.

I guess I misunderstood the question. When I replaced my cartridges I didn't add any oil in my inserts none were needed since the replacements were air charged struts. Hey I guess you can put anything you want in there (maybe peanut butter would be a bit extreem :D ). Just kidding. I planned on normal driving I guess if you were planning autocrossing etc. then I guess so some sort of heat dissapating liquid could be in order! This is just my dos centavos! 2thumbs.gif

A fuel pressure gauge is indespensible. You can even modify an old freon gauge setup; that you can buy at a pawn shop. Or bite the bullit for around 35 bucks and buy one. Hook it up after your fuel filter run a long enough hose so you can close your hood and stick it under your wiper to see it so you will know your press. at boost. That may shed some light on the subject.

Hayes manuel is really not to complete. If you can attain a 83 280zxt factory manuel you'd be better off. I believe you can get a CD of one off curtesyparts.com.

    Wish you luck! 2thumbs.gifcheers.gif:D

  11. You can adjust your ride with the different weight oil installed. Basicly 15 to 20wt. for stock springs. 20-30wt. for stiffer coils.

You put about 280ml. in each strut(280zx factory service manual calls for 278ml.). You can buy regular motorcycle fork oil. one quart will do all four struts. really expensive fork oil costs about 12 dollars a quart. You can gauge the amount you put in each strut by using a farm syringe like out of Grange Co-Op (farm store)used to give medicine to cattle. 2thumbs.gif

My good buddy's son had an operation due to a heart murmer when he was 11 months old. That was sometime ago. Currently he plays soccer with my 13 year old son! Pray; There is someone who watches over all of us. He won't burden us with anything we can't handle. You got a family here that care's more about you than your latest car modification.

Although you do need to get back to work on that Z!

We are here if you need us.

  13. No that's not what I came up with. I called over 12 different injector shops from FL. to CA. Got a hold of a guy at Dr. Injector in washington He gave me the formula. Verfied by 3 other outfits Those 370's I had ran 93ml. for 60sec. at 39lbs. I installed them, ran fine after adjusted AFM.

I Even spent 12 bucks and flow tested my new stock 260cc. turbo injectors they flowed 65ml. per min. times 4 = 260cc (or ml) divided by 10.5= 24.76 or 25lbs.
