I've been asking around some places to get my Z painted. Overall the car is in good condition with 3-4 noticeable dents, 2 rust spots that can be replaced by patch cutting from a rocker panel replacement, and obviously would need to be blocked smooth. Not painting the engine bay, but will be doing the jambs since I will be changing the color to a darker shade of green. Been getting most quotes averaging $8-10k around the Boston area as far as Rhode Island border. All companies have know the condition and know that I already will have the trim and windows out so they can start work. Just got an email from a guy saying $2500-3000 for the complete job. I'm a little concerned of that extremely low offer and e-mailed him with detail of the bodywork and process I am hoping to verify he made the right estimate. If he is still low, are there any safe guards to protect the quote? I'm a little worried they could end up saying $4000+ when its done, rendering the quote useless and possibly creating a tough situation. I know paint estimate are usually low so I'd expect 500-1000 more, but if it ended up being a lot more... On another note, anyone have recommendations of where to get bodywork/paint done within 45 mins of the Boston area?

Im searching to see if there are any Megasquirt and Datsun people around the Quincy and/or Foxboro areas. Trying to get my Z back up and running from basically sitting 2 years and it stumbled all over the place, and never ran perfect before. Hoping to meet someone who likes to play with these things.

I need to roll some beads for intercooler piping but I do not have a bead roller, or a welder to make something. Does anyone within an hour or so of Quincy have a bead roller I can borrow, or give to you to roll, or have some way to help out? Thanks guys!

Bought a hood a while back and it didnt have the late 70s style hood vents. Looking to pick up a pair in good working condition, doesnt matter whether they are painted or need to be refinished as ling as they have studs.

Hey guys, I bought a new clutch master from rockauto and I got one of the aftermarkets with a shorter pushrod. Does anyone either know where to buy a master with the correct length pushrod, and the part number. OR does anyone know the thread size so i can try to buy a threaded coupling and allthread to extend the current one I bought? I will not be around my car for at least a week, thus why I cant get te thread size myself. Thanks for your help!

Ill check and see if i still have an extra. Have you ever used a helicoil? I think thats what its called. You drill the stripped hole, tap it to a larger size, then insert a metal thread that is stock size. I had to do it on a header bolt. They come in a comllete package.
