  1. Greetings and happy new year! I was wanting to know if some one can post a list of engines that when installed in a 240z sit completely behind the front axles with a minimum of alteration to the fire wall if any? These engines should be able to, at least make a reliable 300 hp with the appropriate mods. Thanks, Nate
  2. So is it just that you cant get an even surface with a HVLP? But for primer that wouldent matter becouse its going to get sanded any way, right?
  3. I am going to want to paint my car my self and have access to a high volume low pressure sprayer and was wondering if this will work? Or should I try and get another kind of sprayer and if so what kind? Also dose anyone have any resorses for finding good paint at good prices? Well thanks, Nate
  4. Yea ill look into it but i kinda think the insuranc could be a problem. the car i have now is a 72 VW fastback and its about $65 a month. i dont think i could spend much over 100 a month.
  5. ok Im looking for a new car (not nesisarily a Z, although I'm thinking about it) and would like some help deciding on what to get. this is what I want... I'm a student so my budget is only 3 grand and I don't want to take out a lone(already have enough of those). If this means taking a car with some minor body damage or rust or bad interior then that's ok as long as the mechanics of it are good. I want a car that's is inherently good at cornering abilaty. It should have a decent power to what ratio. plenty of after market parts. And I cant be spending too much on insurance. So if you guys could help me out with this that would be great. thanks, Nate
  6. Personaly I'ed go for some black five spokes. but thats just me.
  7. yea htats right. if you get me a pic of your car in a simaler angel as the wheel the photoshop job will look much better and also be easyer. i can also photoshop a diffarent paint color on a car to an extent so let me know if you want to see anything like tat. I could all so probubly do boddy work with photo shop although I've nevered tryed. well leat me know if anyone wants anything like that.
  8. Thanks, that looks real sweet when it’s all done. That’s probably what I would do unless anyone has a better way to get the same affect.
  9. Just thinking about fenders and was wondering if anyone has welded on VW Bug fenders to a Z. Not the whole fender (that would look dumb) but just part of it. If so I would love to see pictures of it. Thanks, Nate
  10. Well theres your wheels on a 240Z, hope that helps! Good luck, Nate (If this is your car sorry I just Googled for a pic that would work and yours was the first I found. Plus thats a sweet Z.)
  11. yea I saw that one too but its an automatic. dose it take much dooing to swich to a manual? Thanks for the site though.
  12. Im in the market for a 240z this winter but haven't been able to find very many around here (Portland, OR) that are in my price range ($2,000). Dose anyone know of a web site that has a good selection to chose from? Or any other advice for locating a car around here? Or is the selection really just that sparc?http://forums.hybridz.org/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=59# thanks fore the help, nate
  13. another dumb question... whats is "ITS" ?
  14. Thanks for the input. I see I was getting a little a head of my self. So exactly how would you guys spend $4,000 on a stock 240z knowing that eventually you would want to get it into SCCA races but in the mean time would want to use it as a daily driver? And what would be the difference in setups for a SCCA and an autocross car? Could I use one car fore both?
  15. Sorry, when I say that I want a race car that’s also a daily driver what I mean is I want to build a car with an engine that is well balanced with the rest of the car so that later it can be used for racing (ICSCC). Something that I will be able to take to driver training classes and when I improve my skills then modify the car to more of a dedicated race car. Now I know that I could just use a stock 240z to do driver training but I’d rather learn on something that’s more closely resembles the final product. So my question now becomes what engine transmission combo can I put together for about $4,000 that’s going to be a good combo for racing later down the line? Sorry fore not being specific enough.
  16. Hi-larious! ok i know that what what im asking for is a bit much but i just wanted to see if it could be done. thanks for the laugh.
  17. Hi all, I want to get into racing this summer and want to put together a 240z that is race worthy and can be my every day driver as well. My objective is to have at least 300hp and lighter than stock for $4,000 not including the price of the car. I would prefer not to use a v8 (as gas mileage is a concern) but if that’s going to be my best option than so be it. Ideally I would like to use a Nissan engine but really I’m just looking for what combo is going to give me the best power to weight ratio for that kind of money. Well thanks for the input, Nate
