  1. oops, my mistake. I thought J. SOILEAU was using the Key Composite air dam. I should have read more carefully. The thing is the Key Composite dam does appear to be for a 240Z. I guess the question is has anyone on the site purchased one of these and if so was it indeed for a 240Z and if so what how good was the fit and finish?
  2. The e-bay carbon airdam IS for a 240z. The discription on this carbon airdam is incorect (280z 79 83). If you look at the pictures in the e-bay ad you can see it has the 240z turn signal mounting features. Its mentioned in this thread http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=139790&highlight=airdam+carbon This thread has pictures of the dam mounted on J. SOILEAU's rb240 http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=107696&highlight=carbon+airdam So you wont need to use the 280z turn signals.
  3. Triple, try this http://www.southbendclutch.com/ OR 1-800-988-4345 They're right in my home town. Alot of the muscle car guys around here use them and say they work great.
  4. Anyone have a set of 15X12 Watanabe's ( or anything besides your typical drag wheels) that are 5 lug that could tell me what the backspacing is. I need something with 4.5 inch backspacing and the standard 5 on 4.5 nissan pattern. Stoney, Not sure if your into knoffs or have seen these before but if your looking for Watanabe lookalikes in 15"x12 check out American racings Silverstone custom offset option (401-custom). http://www.americanracing.com/browse_vintage.asp It appears that you can specify the bolt pattern and back spacing amoung other things on a custom order form. I suppose they then give you a price. Im going back and forth between this optiion for the old school look vs. the 17" Rota rbr option.
  5. Unless you already have purchaced the 480cc injectors, Deatchworks also offers 550, 650, 740, and 810 cc injectors. We're using the 550 cc versions which cost about $40 more per set than the 480cc units. Just something to think about. As Stoney said "You can tune bigger injectors to run decent at idle but you cant tune smaller injectors to put out more fuel then they can".
  6. Thanks for the info. I think we'll shoot for .75 to 1.00 inch since we are planning on using either a rubber or more likely a poly isolator. BirdmanZ what motor mounts and isolator setup are you running?
  7. We (son and I) are getting ready to make some motor mounts to adapt an rb25 w/rb20 oil pan to our 75 s-30. We are making our own mounts and have figured out the front to back/left to right spacing, but are unsure of what kind of minimum clearance we need between the oil pan and rack. What kind of clearances are are you guys seeing whith the motor installed (weight of motor on the mounts)? We were thinking .5 to.75 inches would be sufficiant but will defer to the experianced and the experts. We know there are different motor mounts out there (Z31, Rick W, Mickinney, etc) which is why we are curious as to what you all are seeing and if there are any issues with a particulare setup/clearance. thanks!
  8. A quick question regarding rb rod bolt torque in general and I am asking it in regards to both stock and aftermarket bolts. When you disassemble the rod caps (used engine, checking bearing condition, etc) should you replace the rod bolts or can you reuse the bolts, and if its ok to retorque the "used" bolts is there a limit as to how many times you can do this before you should invest in new fasteners?
