  1. Dave, Do you have any experience with VNT? It's a technology that has always captured my curiosity. I've always thought it would be an awesome evolution of turbocharging applications... Is there more info on the vains you'd like to elaborate on here so we can discuss it further?
  2. Hey all, I hope to have some time today to take both of my z32 5 speeds over there. I'm going to use one of them behind the supercharged motor in my 280z and the other behind the vk56de in my 240z. The flywheel from a Z32 is a direct bolt on to the vk56de crank! COOL! That means I can use all the Z32 clutch components and make it REAL simple!
  3. I found the article that they referred to... it's at http://cars.ign.com/articles/659/659646p1.html Seems like pure speculation to me, but just for the heck of it I'll check around to see what I can dig up
  4. Check this out: http://www.sportzmagazine.com/Z_special_GTR_photos.htm I obviously zoomed right in on this part of the article: "According to reports on IGN.com, the GT-R, with tuning and engineering done by the racing experts at Cosworth, is rumored to have a positive-boost turbo system. “This means that the GT-R will never fall into negative boost and, like a supercharger, will always have boost available.†I thought it would be good to have some discussion/speculation about what they're up to...
  5. Let's just say it was a very fun and productive day
  6. Hey guys... I attended the PRI trade show yesterday. I was hoping to meet with a few vendors to talk about their new products and how they could be utilized in a next generation production kit. It was extremely productive and this may become a reality... And one with even more power potential! I'm even considering upgrading the supercharger... Next week after the vendors return from the show I will follow up Let me ask you... I am considering changing the configuration and have the supercharger mounted on brackets rather than on the manifold. This would allow for several different intercooling options. Additionally, this might allow the use of 2 different superchargers depending on your needs/requirements. The newer supercharger (sorry can't say what it is yet) supposedly is good for 400hp (Obviously I'd have to test it). (Another nice advantage is the SC I'm considering is much more quiet than my current one) If I did this and it raised the price to $3,500, how would that sit with you? Ken
  7. Engine mods will include custom headers, custom intake, and cams. I'm not using the stock ECU so no speed limiter to deal with... Using an aftermarket engine management (Haltech or Electromotive)
  8. The redesigned manifold will allow for a distributor to be retained. You guys are starting to motivate me to continue development of the manifold! The current design was just a proof of concept and since I was happy with the results I decided it was worth doing the next generation manifold (velocity stacks and ability to intercool with laminova strips). The new manifold should be good for more power and will have some optional additions which will include Laminova strips for intercooling (this would be a little more money, cost unknown until it is designed). The basic manifold could be upgraded later if someone felt it was required for their particular application. I'm going to play around with water injection on my first generation manifold (the one that's on the car in the pictures) and will share the results. Ken
  9. The goal was to keep it reasonably priced... Obviously I'm able to do so because I have very little overhead... Not a lot of profit margin either, but hey I think if more people were to actually drive the car it would be a no brainer. Everyone who has driven it has really liked it. That video you saw of the Autocross at Gainesville was John Thomas (12 time SCCA National Champ) driving the car. It was his first time behind the wheel and he ran the 3rd fastest time of the day with it ... the 2 cars ahead of it were all out race cars and mine is street legal (although the exhaust needs to be changed to make it more civilized on the street). He later said he could have run faster with a little more seat time in it. If you notice, the transmission was rather "crunchy" and he had trouble shifting it... seems like the stock tranny is going to be a weak point. I had a problem with the ECU and he was unable to run it again... Maybe next time! If you guys are ever near Florida, look me up and we'll go for a ride. Ken
  10. I'm working on a few different things right now. I just purchased a bellhousing off of the Titan Automatic tranny, it will be here next week. Give me a little time and I'll share what I came up with and post it here
  11. I would like to keep the price at $2,600ish which would include the following: Intake manifold Supercharger Pulleys Throttle cable Throttle body Fuel Rail Tensioner plate Belt Tensioner Cold Air Intake Belt Throttle cable mount plate You'd also have to modify your gas pedal (really easy) to accomodate the throttle cable You'll need an aftermarket fuel injection system... Megasquirt is a good inexpensive solution. Ken
  12. Hey... I'm using an Electromotive Tec2 Lot's of pictures and specs are listed here: http://www.flzclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42 Another video of the car is located here: 1 warmup lap and 2 hot laps around Gainesville http://flzclub.com/videos/JTautox.wmv There's also a video of the car at sebring listed there somewhere... Ken
  13. Thanks! I think this edition will begin mailing around 12/2. I think you're gonna like the rest of the interview
  14. Hey! You listed many Nissan Power Plants, but forgot about the MAck Daddy! The VK56DE!

  18. Mike, Thanks for the kind words... I have around 5 solid orders... I'd need 12 to make it worthwhile to consider a kit... We'll see... I'd love to produce a kit and allow people choices like this, it just has to be economically feasible... Once I complete th second generation manifold and test it I'll make a decision... Ken
  19. I got mine at the JY for $300... They had 1 more for $350... They were located in Cocoa Florida... I forget the name.
