  1. No I don't think so... The 91 Q has a vh motor
  2. I will share my vk56de motor mounts, intake manifold, headers, and transmission adapter with anyone who desires to do this... I might make a few extras if there's some interest
  3. Yes that's the location of the starter, but really it's not too bad, even with all the OEM stuff on it, I had the intake removed in 20 minutes. I'm making a custom intake manifold for it and also a custom transmission adapter, so there's a possibility that I may relocate the starter if it is feasible.
  4. I'm doing the vk56de swap into my 240Z... You can find all the info at http://flzclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=210 Or I started a post about it here as well... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=105705 Have fun checking it out
  5. Hey all, Here's a picture ... yes it will be tight but it will fit... All the info and links to my engine swap website are located here: http://flzclub.com/forum/showthread.php?p=907#post907 Feel free to post away Ken
  6. Hey guys... This is the picture! Alan Thomas came up with it! I have actually fallen in love with the Light Blue (Sky Blue Datsun color code 305) with the G-Nose and ZG flares... The only thing I'd like to see is this same car with the ZG fender flares in the same color as the body.... Can photoshop do that? Tell me this car is not beautiful?!! Man-o-man! I saved it as my wallpaper!
  7. I think I will have some luck having the clear lexan covers made, and I also could replicate the trim if I had a set to copy (which I would return)... It would also be much easier if I had a set of the lexan covers (in any condition) to copy... I'd return them when complete... If anyone would like to get this project going I believe I can make it happen with some assistance. Ken
  8. Here's some more pictures of ZG Z's Notice the larger rear ZG flares on this Z below
  9. How did you order a new set from Japan? Are there more available? I'd like to buy a set. I have also contacted a vendor who can make the clear plastic cover, I'll have a price shortly... If I could get a set of the trim peices that would be GREAT!
  10. Does anyone have any feedback on the G-Nose from MSA? How does it fit? Any issues? ect Ken
  11. Any updates on this? The trim rings could even be made out of fiberglass or carbon fiber... PPG makes a new paint that looks exactly like chrome so the factory look could be retained... If the headlight covers could be easily made, I could probably make some fiberglass replica's of the trim rings fairly easily... Ken
  12. Any updates on this? If the G-Nose headlight covers and trim ring are so hard to find, let's start a discussion on fabricating some replica's. It's shouldn't be too hard... Are there any sources for replica's? I personally want the chrome trim rings, so if there's a source for them I'd be willing to pay for them... otherwise maybe I'll start to think more seriously about trying to fabricate something....
  13. Hey all, Attached are the pics from Alan that had his watermark as well as a few others from unknown sources... The color combinations get pretty interesting... still looking for a sky blue Z with some different combinations! Here's what we have so far:
  14. HS30-H The pictures you emailed to me were GREAT! Thank you! If it's ok with you I'll post them here, just let me know... I'm starting to see that it's very critical to chose the right color combination with ZG flares and body color. Sometimes a light colored flare and dark body color look ok, and other times it doesn't look so great. The light colored cars seem to be more of a challenge... I think my sky blue Z will have to have flares that are the same color as the body in order to look ok, although I'd like to see how the sky blue color would look with a silver or grey flare... Anyway, if anyone has any pics of a sky blue Z with the ZG flares painted the same as the car or in silver or grey that would be REALLY helpful! Thanks for all your help on this! So far HS30-H was the only one to come up with a picture of a sky blue Z with ZG flares... seems like a rare combo! Ken
  15. Hey... there's several posts on fitting the ZG flares... it requires cutting and rewelding in the rear and just some cutting in the front... search and you find them... Still need a pic of a "light" blue early Z with ZG's on it... we're getting close! Remember I'm looking for paint code 305... I don't think I've EVER seen one... could that be the case?!!!
  16. Good feedback! Thanks! I'm still searching and have not been successful finding one picture of a light blue early Z with ZG flares! Can anyone help? Ken
  17. Hey guys... I've been searching with no luck... I can't seem to find a example of a early Z in Light Blue Metalic (code 305) with ZG Flares... I kinda think they wouldn't look right with that color.... who knows... Maybe Carbon fiber would look ok? Maybe painting them dark grey(silver) metalic? Decisions Decisions... If anyone has a picture or 2 of a few examples of Light Blue Z's with ZG flares I'd love to see them... Post them here or email them to ken280z@hotmail.com Thanks Ken
  18. I am still seriously considering it. I have the materials for the second generation intake manifold (the first one was a proof of concept). The goal is for it to fit under a stock hood and have an intercooler integrated into it. I have about 15 people who have said they were serious about purchasing a kit... That usually equates to about 10% that were REALLY serious. I figure I would need 15 firm committments to make it worth the effort... So that's the current status... I will post results of the new manifold once complete.
  19. Bob, Did you see the pictures of the people and the one "skin" shot? I can't figure out which body part that is! Laughed my butt off when I saw it
  20. I just saw this post on ebay... There's a few pictures that I can't quite identify... Would you guys care to take a look and help figure it out? I think it may be zeecoli ... See what you think http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-datsun-240z-240z-decent-shape-factory-3year-old-reman-motor_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQitemZ4583952360QQrdZ1 Maybe one of you guys would like to contact the seller and seek their clarification?
  21. Extremely well executed! I'd REALLY like to see more info about your 240sx dashboard and some better pics of the interior... Would you mind posting some info on what it took to fit that dashboard in the car? Ken
  22. Any thoughts on how some of the better front airdams and rear spoilers improve the numbers? This combined with lowering the car has to help in some ways... I'd bet headlight covers help somewhat as well... Mike you gonna buy that wind tunnel so we can test all this stuff?
  23. The Stillen SC kit... Won't fit under the 240z hood... misses it by 4 inches... maybe a custom hood is in order!
  24. So... Doing some analysis, the intake runners are 22 inches long! This obviously was done to maximize torque but it also creates a big barrier to swapping this engine into a Z... The height of the motor with the intake installed is 31 1/2 inches as opposed to 26 inches without it. A custom "low profile" intake manifold would have to be fabricated to make it fit. More measurements to follow...
  25. The LS1 weighs 503 pounds & 620 pounds dressed as per a hotrod magazine article I read awhile back.
