  1. Chasing a early hatch in mint condition, don't need the glass, preferably in California as it would need to be dropped at a shipping yard in Pomona so it can get to me in Australia.

    thanks

  2. Well, knowing what year it came out of helps you determine what ratio and LSD type it is:

04' and 05' STIs came with a CLSD, 3.9 ratio

06' STIs came with a CLSD, 3.54 ratio

07' STIs came with a Torsen LSD, 3.54 ratio

08' STIs came with a Torsen LSD, 3.9 ratio

I'm not sure what the 09's and up come with.

Edit: the info above is true for US models...not sure if they differed in other markets.

Thanks, I think the new diff I'm looking at is either a 04-05 or 08, I've searched a lot of photos on google and ebay and most have lettering on top starting with a H, the latest I found was a photo of a 06 sti diff with HX then one on ebay was HW, 05 diff, I don't know if this is a very presice was of finding a diff but its all I got to go by as the diff is in japan.

    cheers

  3. Oh ok, i just thought that it had to be a 04 or 05 diff to use the axles, I'm pretty keen on this diff though just because its brand new and its only a few hundred more than a used over here in Australia. I guess if its the wrong one I can always just sell it again.

  4. I've searched but couldn't really find much info on the springs, just wanted to know if the Schneider valve springs are good or not, I actually already have some that I bought from MSA but I'm heading to Japan before the end of the year and was wondering if it would be worth getting some kameari springs while I'm there.

  5. I've got a damaged, pushed in frame rail just where the tc rod goes and wanted to repair it before sandblasting and POR coating the chassis but I'm unsure how to straighten the damaged section. I thought about getting one of those spot stud welders but I'm thinking the metal might be too strong there to pull out, any suggestions please?

  6. I have a really clean one in my backyard but I'm in Chicagoland... my email is buyaz2@hotmail.com if you can't find anything else, you can even instruct me where you want it cut off the car...

Thanks anyway but I really need one that can be dropped off in Montclair California.

  7. I'm after an excellent condition 240z roof skin, it will need to be close to Montclair California as I will need it dropped off to a yard there as its going in a container to Australia, thanks.

  8. I'm trying to find out if these tripple mikunis are suitable for my L24, from looking at wolfcreek racing website they seem to be OEM 40mm mikunis from a toyota, has anyone used this type before and is the FET manifold any good?

  9. I need some help figuring out what parts i need for my 240z coilover setup, I searched and read quite a bit but I'm not very mechanically minded and it just confused me more, it will be mainly a street driven weekend car.

    This is my set up

    tires: f: 225/50/16

    r: 245/45/16

    shocks: koni 8610-1437

Now I'll be getting my struts sectioned to suit the konis but i'm unsure of spring lenghts and size I'll need, I'll be getting king springs here in Australia and this is what I've guessed I'll need

spring length(free height?) 250mm front and rear, rates 225/250, spring id 65mm

sleeve id 2in, sleeve length 5in

Does any of this sound right?
