I've got a 1970 240z with a 327 chev and I plan on putting on some aluminium heads to save some more weight on the front, so I'm guessing that would make it similar to the weight of the L series engine. I've got some tokico illuminas on the way but I'm unsure about which coilover and spring rate to get, I was going to get the ground control kit but they don't list the spring rates.

Terry the box I'm looking at from Astro is the standard ford racing version so it doesn't have the astro shafts, their website lists the box as 28 spline. I have been in contact with Astro and apparently with their bellhousing this t5 will bolt up to the chevy. Just got to get a price on freight to Australia so hopefully this won't put me over budget.

I was looking at buying a heavy duty ford racing t5 from astro performance but from what I've read the input shaft is different, would a change of input shaft to a GM part work or wouldn't this work with the ford gears? Alternatively does anyone know where I could get a cheap world class t5 and I could get it fully rebuilt with a GM kit, I am in Australia so I guess this doesn't make it easy.

Does motorsport auto frequent these forums? I've sent a couple of emails including one to their ebay store about shipping items to Australia but I never get a response, I've got the same problem trying to get the JTR book from a US store.

Does anyone make a nut and bolt kit for the 240z, I searched but nothing came up.

Isn't that JTR though, I've already sent a couple of emails to them but no response and I don't want to pay $50 shipping through summit.

cusco strut bar problem

Jacking the car up didn't help, from what I've heard factory tolerances weren't that good, I think I'll leave it for now and concetrate on stripping the car down for repairs and respray. -
I've bought a cusco front strut bar for my 240z but it doesn't fit it seems like the towers are too close together, did anyone else have this problem?

One of the reasons to shift it back is with the JTR engine mount kit is you can bolt up a tremec 5sp and it will come straight out of the stock shifter hole with no mods and I imagine the JTR transmission mount is for the tremec also(this is from what I've read please correct me if I'm wrong) At the moment its got a 4sp Ford toploader box and I hate it.

Yep its engineered already and still registered in NSW but I live in VIC so I will get it transferred once the car is completed.

Picked up my 1970 240z on the weekend, its been in the family for almost 20 years and I've finally convinced them to sell it to me. Its got a 327 chev, flares, and an almost rust free body, lots of plans though including ZG flares, some 16in watanabes, bigger brakes, coilovers etc. Heres a couple of poor pics, I will take some better ones this weekend.

Thanks for the replies, I thought it sat pretty far forward. I definetly want the engine further back, would it be fairly easy to buy a JTR kit to move it back? Its also got a ford toploader gearbox at the moment which I was going to replace with a tremec 5 speed or toyota R154 box, don't know if that would complicate things or not.

Going by 240ztt's pics maybe they are 16x8 0 offset, the rears do look like they have a bit more dish but it could just be the angle.

This is the look I'm going for with the watanabes, it wouldn't be anyones car here would it?

Is anyone here or does anyone know if you can run watanabe 16x8.5 -6 in the rear and 16x8 0 offset in the front (no flares) on a 240z?

I actually have that DVD in oz its called High Octane Detonate, the 240 is in a track race with a bunch of other cars and gets tagged in the rear quarter by an M3.

I thought the r154 was out of the turbo supra? By the way I don't plan on running anymore than 400rwhp.
