  1. If the level is low and it has sat that long the slave and the master are wasted. save your self the time and trouble and change them out as a pair. use new dot 3 brake fluid. check the line. then bleed the system. have a freind pump the clucth pedel 10 time then on the tenth one hold it to the floor and you can open the bleed valve on the slave to let the air out. then close the valve and your freind can release the pedel. repeat several more times, then see how it feels. change all the fluids in the car while your at it. coolant , brake , diff, trans. Oils cheap, engines are not. Write me if you need more info. Im a ASE Master tech and work for Toyota.
  2. nice write up. I too have a t-5 . Im running shorty headers and making my own exhaust. I have had prbloms with bleeding this type system to before on chevys. the best way is to power bleed it. Summit now sales a poor man universal power bleeder for around 80 bucks. Once did a s10 chevy and had to tilt the truck at a pretty good angle with the lift in the shop and power bleed it to get all the air out. Question for you, Is the wilwood master adjustable ?
  3. The Bull Dogs look good. Looks like he sales them by piece. What would you guys think of an x member? Heard of a hybrid that had one. Bolt on to allow trans removal. Also I read on the scarab page that a torgue rod helps alot. (running a bar from the back of the transmission to the diff. 80s camaros had those. might be able to mod on to work. Im running T5 speed in mine.
  4. if you have a small block chevy. im thinking the side of the head where the temp sender goes or the plug on the other side . you should use plummers tape on them to keep them from seeping through the treads. . let see, an intake manifold leak at the water port could run down that way. oh never use stop leak it will plug up the radator over time. find and fix the leak correctly is the only way. check the head gasket too. Do you have access to a pressure tester? pressurize the system to 16 lbs then start looking. or if not get it hot driving then check it after you turn it off during the heat soaking phase. thats when it goes up a good 20 degress or so when you turn off the engine. one more did you put sealer on the head bolts. coolant can come up the head bolt threads also. alot of people dont know about that. ive had to do a few of those over the years.
  5. sorry to hijack but, Jason, is that a 144 weinand blower . if so would like to see more photos. hows hood clearance.? Im sure you need a 4 inch cowl min. is that enough?
  6. i dont think youll find a frezze plug that small and i dont like the idle that it could find its way in your oil pan. you could get a wrecking yard tube cut it down crimp it and put silicon on it.
  7. go to your chevy dealer and tell them you have a target master block and need the cap for the dipstick tube. they should be able to fix you up. They do those blocks a-b blocks to fit a wide range of applications. I have installed a few. you could run two dipstick tubes and freak peop;le out he hehe
  8. Once you get it running long enough. at idle block off the secondarys to make sure your not pulling air with them closed. make sure your pcv valve is intact. remove it with the engine off and shack it and listen to see if it rattles. Just had a honda in the shop the other day that would not idle and failed smog at a test only . pcv had no insides. well it had a bad cat gross polluted for nox, but that was not the drivability problem. The easy test is when its cold just block off the carb with your hand partly and see if idle smooths out and picks up speed, thats telling you your to lean and you most likey have a vaccum leak. You say it runs fine once it warms up?
  9. Check some transmission shop and exchanges, I just saw an ad for some T-5 pretty cheap that a local builder was offering. I will try to find the ad. Summit has T-5s And 56's for sell ready to go but pricey.
  10. The v-6 trans has a 10 spline input shaft and the v-8 is a 26 spline. The v-8 trans is a lot stronger. There is even an upgrage for the 26 spline trans to make it stronger. i opted for the 26 out of an 89 camaro. paid 400 on ebay with everything. Running a zoom clutch and going to add a lakewood bellhousing latter to meet scca rules. you know you get what you pay for.
  11. on the subject of chyrsler mounts , check summit racing. they have a universal cross bar that goes between the frame rails that can be cut down and bolt or weld in. I did both. I paid 70 bucks and even came with the rubber motor mounts. just run a torgue strap or chain so you don't tear the mounts apart like I did with my 340 years ago Fred Hey Darius, If your looking for some off road you should check out the area up here. Steve Lampson lives here and rides the trails around here.
  12. Sounds like vaccum. spray some brake clean around the carb base plate and intake and see if it smooths out. Just don't catch it on fire. stay away from the ignition. Put a vaccum gauge and see if it is low or the needle is fluctating fast. cover your hand over the carb to make it go rich and see if it cleans up. check you inital timing with a timing light.
  13. I got a better idea. Summit racing has a cross bar with mounts on it for 70 bucks and you cut it down to fit your engine compartment. it goes between the frame rails and it allows you to put the engine where ever you want. Its a bolt in but I welded it too . I cut off the stock mount perches and painted them black . Now I dont have the engine torque effecting the suspension. Can also weld tubes to the cross bar and run them inside to a roll cage for extra support. Fred
  14. I have that video too. Also have Crusty Demons 10, seen you there Darius. Props to you. I ride Honda CRF 250x up here in the El Dorado National forrest. Used to race Downhill Mountain bikes and I am a master auto tech in Folsom, ca. currently building a blown 350 71 240z with a msa body kit. Doing the engine , rollcage body and paint myself. Hope to show it at the Zcar nationals. Will have to check out some of your videos. Why go small when you can go big? Just dont get hurt man. Fred
  15. Thay could say, vee pimp your ride, but you can't polish a turd
  16. They should make that a weekly show right after Overhaulin
  17. Check the fuel filter, as mentioned earlier. replace the regulator for the ovcer voltage.then if you persist to have problems, I would suspect a bad ignition module. 240z 450 hp v8. Master Auto Tech.
