Some more pics: Started cleaning up the engine, and finished putting all the trim and interior in. Fully operational and on the road now:
At some point I will pull the heads, intake and exhaust and paint them too. I used the same color as the body. I was going to use the correct green color, but decided on something a little different.
Here is the engine before:
And after a few hours with the wire wheel and sandpaper and lots of elbow grease:

you should see what a go-kart tire does...more lateral gs are applied to a go-kart tire, its pretty amazing, or look at a launch on a drag car.
Go-Kart Pics here:
Funny you should post that site:

I've seen kart tires pop off the bead....no fun, esp. since they tend to do it at max G load.

I had all the chrome on my 55 done here in CA (Verne's) and it cost $1000.00
That was for a lot of chrome:
front bumper: 6 pieces
trim under the headlamps: 2 pieces
hood leading edge trim: 1 piece
Headlight trim rings: 2 pieces
Hood wings: 1 piece
Rear Bumper: 3 pieces
As you can see, a lot of chrome to do, and the pieces were not in good shape to begin with.

1000 Nm is 737 ft lbs.
Here is a nice conversion site: http://online.unitconverterpro.com/

That was the case. Kinda confused me too, but I figured that maybe because the 1.8T can raise 6 inches higher and weighs 10 pounds less, that they are more desirable, hence more expensive?
That's the only thing I can think of......

Just received this a couple of days ago and am using it today. It is great for working on the car in the garage where there is little room to swing the arm of a regular jack. This thing is fantastic!!

I merged all the seperate threads on the same issue. Please don't create threads for the same problem several times in several forums.

I'm aware you're asking "who is" but I've always liked "Mighty Mouse" !!!
Here I come to save the day!!!!
Yup, I agree

F#@% that is beautiful!
I assume that alignment still needs to be done? Front has a fair amount of neg. camber.

I took a while, but I finally got some work done over the Xmas break. Still a few minor things to do, but she is pretty much all there now:

I have a cheapo Harbor Freight chop saw and it cuts perfectly straight!!, even when cutting at something other than 90*. I don't baby the blade either. Once it gets a bite into the metal, I lay into it!

I bet it would be a nightmare trying to get it registered in CA with all the emissions and safety requirements!! Sweet styling though!

Here it is in action:
(BTW, they call them "Pigs" because back in the day, they used tools made of leather and when they went through the pipeline, the leather against the steel made a squeeling sound like a pig)
Here is some background if anyone is interested.

Posts made on the "NonTech" forum do not count towards post count, and your last series of posts were on that forum.
