  1. This was exactly what I was looking for! Thanks a lot evildky!
  2. Howdy all, A while ago, I was looking at online Z stores and saw a cool product. It was a hydraulic strut (similar to the one that holds up the rear hatch) which mounted in the engine compartment and helped raise the hood. This eliminated the two thin bars that crisscross in the front. The thing is, I can't find this product anymore. If anyone knows what I'm talking about and where to find it, please respond and send me a link. Much appreciated!
  3. After searching on cylinder head posts, I couldn't find info on this question. What are the differences between a P90 and P90a "solid lifter" head? If the P90a had a hydraulic and solid lifter version, would the solid lifter version be any different than a regular P90 or can you rebuild them in the same fashion? Thanks.
  4. I know this is an old post, but Greg do the Toyota calipers take the same size fittings (M10x1.0)? Also, what is the procedure to switch to -3 fittings? Thanks.
  5. Howdy all, I just picked up a pair of rebuilt Toyota S12+8 non-vented calipers from AutoZone for my 240. I got home and started going through the boxes and found that they did not have the clips to hold any brake pads. Is there a kit at the auto store that has these necessities? Is it affordable? What else might I need to complete my new caliper and brake pad mating? Thanks!
  6. It seems like you guys are making this too complicated. Ruiz Racing, if your turbine took too long to spool up, then get a smaller turbo. The reason you made so much hp was because of a big compressor wheel. OR, read Maximum Boost by Corky Bell or give him a call. Business phone is 830-980-8185. I'm sure he has a better answer.
  7. Hey, if there were no 280ZXs, then we couldn't have gotten the F54 block!!!
  8. Thanks guys. If I can't find somebody who has made them I guess I can make them myself. I have the old ones which still have kept their shape. Once again, thanks!
  9. Well, I've been searching different online stores, but can't find replacement headlight gaskets for my 240. Some places sell the whole headlight assembly, but all I need are a pair of the rubber gaskets. Does anyone know of a place that might sell these guys? Thanks.
  10. Thanks, I didn't even think about the vehicle inspection aspect.
  11. Does anyone know of specific dangers of locating the battery inside the cabin? I'm thinking about a sealed battery such as an Optima, etc. Would behind the passenger seat or in the back be alright? I know people do it all the time, but are there any real dangers?

    Clean Engine

What is the shiny container where the battery used to be?
  13. My first car was bitchin' 68' Firebird! After that, I got two 1977 280zs and I was hooked.
  14. Has anyone out there put in heat/sound deadening on the underside of their hood? Just wondering if it caused any heat to be sealed in the engine compartment, of any other problems?
  15. Howdy All, I just pulled the rack & pinion out of my 240 and was wondering, is it worth it to replace it with a rebuilt one or should I rebuild it myself? Do they really need to be gone through or just cleaned up and re-lubed? All opinions welcome. Thanks!
  16. I have seen a product by Kameari called the Performance Twin Idler Gear Kit for the timing chain of the L series and was wondering if it is a good product and if it was worth spending the money for it. This would be for a rebuild I'm doing on an L28. Thanks!
  17. Well, karma seems like a good enough reason for which direction. Thanks!
  18. Does the coned end face up or down? I'm about to install mine and it seems like the flat end on the bump stop should sit flush with the flat end of the strut. Please set us straight. -Burntread
  19. Alright guys, that makes sense. I appreciate the help. Thanks! Shawn out!
  20. I'm still wondering about the ss lines, though. Can I buy some ss lines for a Z and then use adapter fittings to fit it to Toyota calipers and the hard lines still on the Z? Or, would I get ss lines for Toyota calipers and use adapters to fit onto the Z? Thank you in advance!
  21. Howdy all, When replacing brake lines with SS and switching to S12 calipers, do I get them for Datsun calipers or for Toyota? Do brake lines attach the same to any caliper and only the length matters? Just wondering!
