hey everybody, i remember a long time ago...parusing through my custom rodder magazines..when i came across an add for a place in cali...that will make a mandrel bent polished stainless exhuast from a template that you or they provide. they had one version where there supplied this tube...and some hardning foam...then they had it where you could send in your old press bent exhuast as a tepmplate....so my question is.... does anybody know what company im talking about..or can you guide me in the right direction? thanks in advance!

ya know, i would really like a couple of wangan midnight movies. would it be possible to purchase copies from you? or do you know of a source? TIA

hey perry, whats all involved in your "kit" to lose the AFM? and will your approach be compatable with a 77 FI system. the reason for the swap is: 1. more room 2. more airflow 3. more room! the standard AFM is huge! and im finding it a bit hard to really fit it in well...as well as make it look good a programable version would be very cool...but real world daily drivin apps would really not need that much flexability. unless it can be at a low enough cost that it would be a significant differance between that...and a full on prog. EFI system. just my thoughts...but im interested in your setup.

best sound ever.....we had a GT40 at the shop i worked at...my boss would go out there whenever one of his buddies would stop by and fire the thing up...THE most amazing engine sound EVER. ive heard ferraris, M3s, lotus's, ETC and non of them compared. I do agree about the 911s sounding like azz. i was at the american LeMans race at TMS...and those porsches sounded awfull everytime they race by....out off all the cars there...i would have t say the vipers sound good....but the vettes sounded great! (even though im not a big fan of either) in the pits though....the M3s rocked! but on the high speed banking they just kinda wizzed by.... and as far as airplanes go....i live right under the aproach for RAFB...and hear those planes go in and out every day..all day....and the best ever was a flock of A-10 thunderbolts wow! if youve never heard them.......OUCH! or the old mustangs and rotarys at the EAA fly-in. those were nice too

i was parusing through my BMP catalog (BMW performance) and came across a kit that lets you convert from a AFM to a MAS. the kits is made by a company called split second. just wondering why we cannot do the same thing. i would think it would be a nice feature to loose to bulky restrictive AFM. so anyway....i ask the FI gurus why we (l jetronic people) cannot.... thats my question of the day..

hey guys, let me start out with the pics: a shot from the front: here it is from the top: and from the side: anywho....my question is this...am i going to run into any problems from running the IC at a slight angle? i can run it striaght up and down...but it really encloses the radiator and also imho looks out of place....but when at an angle...the radiator has more room to breath...and the IC is sitting at the same slant that the front of the car has...so it looks better too. plus!!!..the plumbing would be easier at and angl;e as well.. here is my site: the turbo project i will update it a little better after i complete it...right now im too busy on the car to mess with a web site thanks for the comments and questions....

hey guys! just wondering how i wire in my 280ZX distributer (the one with the built in module) into my 77 280Z harness? will this eliminate the ignition control box thats on the passenger side footwell? thanks in advance....

just wondering....as i begin to modify my intercooler i wonder what size tubing i should run. my turbo outlet is 2" and my throttle body is 2". also i can get 2" tubing so much cheaper than 2.5". just wondering what size you guys are running and what you recomend. TIA
-
what are the specs on those wheels? i like me alot.
-
ok, so im about to hook up the wastegate but i have three different size of fittings i can use: 1/16 1/8 3/8 is there a response time i should be aware of? I.E. does the bigger tubing cause the wastegate to respond more slowly...os does the smaller tubing cause erratic functioning of the wastegate? im running a deltagate btw.....what are you running?!
-
is bigger better? say 1/8 is the min. recommended by the manufacturer.....is 3/8s better? does the bigger tubing cause the wastegate to open slower? faster perhaps?

hey guys, i went to napa today and looked into the L-jetronic FI injector pigtails. mine are ver corroded and wouls like to step into some new ones...but at 7.90 a peice....and the fact that i have to splice them into the old harness *which i think will look like crap* since they are different colours than stock. I seem to remember coming across a part number for some un-assembled pigtails...where you can just cut the old ones off..then crimp on and snap the new clip together! well this sounds so much better to me!, BUT i cant find the part number or even a referance for a source! can anybody help me out???? thanks! ps. all new sensors are in...shaved intake manifold is in, exhaust is smoothed, coated, re-welded and installed....BOV is on order from OZ, along with LED AF gauge that im building into my tach face plate! (so cool!)wastegate is in! flanges are on order!..holy crap im almost there!

turbo motor is in the CAR!!!! pics attached
Sparky replied to Sparky's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
hey guys...sorry for the lateness of my reply. tony, the exhaust manifold is a slightly modded N47 with a adapter made by CarTech. its not the best way to do things, but seeing as how i bought this as a "kit" im trying to use as much as i can. the project went from turbo SUs to l24 FI turbo..into the F54 turbo! o-well...so much for that right...i just kept getting really good deals and there was no way i would pass them up! Davy, Im a little unsure of the size of the turbo. i have yet to have it rebuilt...nor have i talked to anybody...its rajay model number E33? the only thing ive done thus far is polish the compressor side...i have been told that its a T3...but am unsure as to the accuracy of that. any ideas? ive also tried to contact Mr. bell about this kit, but he has yet to reply to all my questions....and thats understandable. Im hoping it performs well....as it was designed to be used for the L28...im sure mr bell knows whats hes doing and it will work fine. anywho...thanks for the questions! i like writing about my project! laterZ
