  1. Sounds like we may be getting a Georgia connection going here guys. I don't know about yall the help I can get.
  2. I was at the PPG store in Milledgeville this past week picking up my primer etc for my first attempt at real painting and spoke with a rep from the Conyers store named Keith Frank. You need to call or go back by the Conyers store and see him. I told him I was new at this and needed lots of help. He spent at least 40 minutes with me explaining the pros and cons of the various primers and paints and showed me each one and answered basicaly every question I had at the time. When we finished he gave me his card and said if I have ANY questions to call him. He was very knowledgable and he did not try to push any particular product. By the way I live in Douglasville. Maybe we can compare notes some time.
  3. This may only be part of the problem, but it seems to me that the 160 degree thermostat could be contributing to the over heating. I would check the cooling system real good then try a 180 degree in it before I broke out the checkbook. Just a thought.
  4. Thanks for the advice. I will get he door to him Monday and we will get it put bak on before we proceed with the quarter panel. The article on Zcar.com was quite thorough and informative. Almost as good as the info that I have gotten on this site over the past year.
  5. Can anyone tell me approximately how much adjustment (front/back up/down)there is to play with on the door on a 75 280? I have the doors off and the rest of the car is out of town at a friend's shop having a quarter panel put on. He scared me at first when he asked the question, but I found out that he was just checking before he did final welding. We are going to reinstall the door just to make sure everything is squared up before hand.
  6. I have a 75 engine and trans for sale and was asked if it would would interchange in an 81. Can anyone answer that question? What about the fuel injection and four speed tranny from my 75? Help!
  7. A possible cure fo your stumbling problem is to drill a 1/6" (one sixteenth) hole near the leading edge of the secondary butterflies. I can't promise this will work, but I have seen it done many times to resolve the same problem. I have done it on the quadrajet on the 327 in my 67 Nova a few years ago and it resolved the problem. Of course take the carb off first.
  8. Thanks for the replies. I just wasn't sure why it wouldn't work. I want to get this thing right the first time, but I am on a budget. from the posts I've read it seems that there is more preference for the Carter pump, but i guess that depends on who replies. I'm sure I'll be back with more questions as the project progresses.
  9. I have been reading a lot of posts here it seems that you guys have all the answers. I just got my JTR manual and yanked the six out. I'm planning on a used stock 350. If I run a flow through regulator shouldn't the stock fuel pump in my '75 be sufficient. JTR says it's inadequate in a 260, but it does not specificaly mention the 280. What about the 280 pump? It seems to me that it should work considering that it's a high pressure pump, but I am a rookie.
