im really sorry to hear that man, I would keep the motor wrapped up in a dry area... stuff like that takes time and patients. I used to not be able to drive a Manuel because of my arthritis in my left leg...

yes the poopy pipe must be cut off!

LOL i just clicked on the link....its a compound! nevermind what i said about the twins lol
-
Thanks shaggy! I had thought of the twin turbos, But i already have my 76mm single... And turbonetics Claims that the GTK series I have I supposed to spool really REALLY quickly. we will see!
Mike, since you're one of the ones going for total awesome 2JZ power, you may care to know you can now go with compound twin turbos from Boost Logic. They recently finished it off and it's pretty incredible: 20psi at 2800RPM and the ability to make over 800HP. You may say "shoot, only 800HP!? Forget that! I'm going for 1000HP!" If you need that 4 digit number then forget I said anything, but consider how broad your powerband will be if you're getting 20psi at 2800RPM.http://boostlogic.com/xcart/product.php?productid=160&cat=9&page=1

Mike, you probably googled "HKS NSSD - Neutral Safety Switch Defeater." didn't you?haha
-
when i was reading your post shaggy i was like:willy_nil... you are funny!!! hahahhaha
No... you need ANOTHER computer to add to your stack. I believe it's called the HKS NSSD - Neutral Safety Switch Defeater. -
OH MY THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!! thats all it takes is a fuse???
pic and description of how to do it here, a mini fuse, or just cut and solder behind the plug.http://www.flickr.com/photos/russjz-zed/sets/72157601989530227/detail/?page=6

iv been looking around.... how do i wire the Neutral kill switch from the auto ecu. Because i now have a manual... some people say i need to do it...others say i dont need to worry about it? will my car run if i dont mess with the kill switch?
-
agreed...you are a really lucky guy...iv seen similar things happen to high boosted sr20's and normally when this happens the whole head gets crushed around the valves. as for the California gas... Ya its lame...only use Cheveron seriously... you can go online and look up what each manufacturer puts into their gas...

confused i am......

wow...ummmmm ill have to ask around lol

In this case, it's a reminder to me why I'm planning to go with Megasquirt. Even with the $$$ AEM, which I can't afford anyway, it seems like you have to keep buying a whole bunch of other high dollar components to it. I know this is largely a biased perception, but my route is to spend only as much as I MUST. I'm not building a 1000HP show car. I'm very impressed with this build, for what it's worth.
thanks shaggy that means alot!!! i just cant wait to drive her...i MISS MY Z!
-
It's basically just an ignition amplifier. When you go with AEM, you end up with wasted spark and a consequentially weaker spark, I believe. I think a lot of guys start having ignition issues around 18psi on the AEM setup so they plop down $500 for the HKS DLI and have no more problems.
Here's a crappy thread on it: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3533065
And here's a link to the HKS DLI: http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=839
OHHH ya i got it... one MORE THING lol
-
Yikes! That reminded me another reason why I didn't go with the stock computer first. That gets $$$ quickly if you want to make power. Then, you need a DLI, too.
a DLI???????? whats that?
-
its cool stony....
well anyways...today i was surfing around HKS's instructions on their VPC and GCCP systems so i know more of what i need to do with them. and my girlfriend asked me a silly question that made me giggle.... shes asked me "how many freakn computers is your car going to have by the time your done??"
i said well...
there is
the ECU
The VPC
The GCCP
The Apexi boost controller
The Turbo timer
and The Wideband
She said and i quote "for someone who dislikes computers in cars you sure are putting alot of them into your 30 year old car...."
-
I just want to see the cool car and learn a bit on the way.... Let's start a new threat and bash on 200K cars we can still out run!! hehehe..
cars i plan to race when im done...
i know TWO 09 GTR owners that want to race me...
2 supras
2 Porsche (one supercharged one)
a corvette Zr1
and prob a few other people...but thats the line up for the next drag night and sears point raceway.
-
That's good to have, but here's a fuller page with only technical specs AND what you just posted. Unless there's more further into that thread you posted, you'll probably prefer this - http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/specs.htm
WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL thats a crap load of info! thanks!!!

I have an HKS FCD, it should work fine for the 7MGTE ECU. I cant say what you need for the 1JZ ECU, hell your going to be on stock twins for a while right?!?!
LOL NOPE IM GOIN STAIGHT TO SINGLE LOL....already sold the twins/stock intake to buy my HKS engine managment....
-
Understood, but there's a lot of stuff that gets machined or drilled and is trusted to spin very fast. Besides, flywheels are drilled from the factory - it's not a cast piece. I'll be paying a professional machinist to drill it the correct pattern and do it, well, professionally.
lol sounds like a plan, im sure it will work.
-
I'm assuming I can find a 2JZ non-turbo flywheel for $0-$20 and the modifications to it should be under $100. Let's say my numbers are a bit off and it comes out to $150 - I'm still more than $100 LESS than the cost of a new, OEM 1JZ flywheel.
I've been having to pinch pennies lately and this is one more way to do it.
i see, i just dont like the idea of drilln holes into a flywheel thats spinning so fast...
