right now it doesnt run well enough to check timing
Mike, I don't see anywhere that you responded to stony's suggestion to check your timing. I believe timing was the exact same reason streetfighter's 2JZ kept overheating when he first got it going. It would start up and run fine so we had plenty of time to hunt down the issue but we never checked the timing; a week of frustration for him as he finished up other parts and he finally got Justin Ninny(?) to recheck the base tune and found the timing was all out of wack. The overheating stopped and he picked up over 100HP or so before they really got to work on the tuning. -

Well at this point its running so shitty that i cant get it to temp... i checked my thermostat and its fine but i dont know about air..right now im trying to get it to run like it used to.

alright well i know for a fact its not running lean from all the black smoke and my airfuel meter is reading very rich. oh and the smell of gas lol. right now i think i need to change the sprk plugs again! for the 3rd time because they are getting so fowled with the rich conditions.

well i already have replaced the thermostat i dont get it the car runs like crap now...thought it may be the spark plugs fowled but i took them out and cleaned them and it didnt make a difference. when i started to over heat it got to 220 degrees then i shut it down...could i have damaged something at that temp? i dont think i could have but i dunno

the fan is on a switch for now and it works. the collant at the back of the head is that heater port?

Today i got the car running with the AEM EMS installed. The smoke is almost gone without even tuning the motor at idol. I have to re-install the ecu through the firewall and then possibly take it for a spin and start tuning!!!! one problem i found now that its running better is it over heats!!! i must have air in the system... any ideas????

I just Ordered my AEM EMS system from Turbochargers.com Had to take out a small loan on the credit card to do it even tho i got a great deal on it!! THANKS JOHN.
Seriously guys call up Turbochargers.com and get stuff from them... I have used them a few times on this build and have been great!
As for the EMS...NOW i gotta learn how to use it!!!! anyone got and maps they could send me?

As for the NOT having time thing...its always faster to do a search rather then asking for help and waiting for people to answer.

that sds looks cool. I have gone threw my current wiring harness wire by waire and now know its wired perfectly... so im going to stick with someone that will plug into my factor harness.

If you don't want to spend the money on the EMS right now, why not put in smaller injectors for the time being so you can at least drive it around?
why take a step back when i can wait and take a step forward? i thought about it...it will be better in the long run to have a stand alone.

the scene right after aziza put the gas in the Z. They are talking on the back of the truck. My car should be in the back there. but they must have deleted my scene. oh darn... after everything i went through i dont care lol

im bummed...at this point id sell my soul for AEM EMS...i have a beautiful paper weight that makes smoke and hits fuel cut at 3,000 rmps

alright driving the Z around now...a bad cam sensor and incorrect wiring on the #2 cylinder injector were giving me huge problems....now i feel the HKS VPC and GCC set up i am running is way to inadequate for my 1000cc injectors.... at Idol the car puts out enough black smoke to fill the street. i have set both the VPC and GCC to max LEAN and it doesnt seem to help. am i doing something wrong or do i REALLY need to buy a 2,000 dollar computor??????

oh ya everything was set when the motor was on the engine stand. top dead center ect... the motor ran great a few weeks ago but now is stumbles and dies after it starts.
