  1. We used 2"....lol...j/k your exhaust is 3" and 3 1/2" at the rear.
  2. Thanks. Making it fit with acceptable ground clearance and a resonator w/ a 5" OD was the tough part. The rest is just routing the tubing and welding. Tig welding all of this took a lot of time. After it's all tacked together in the car, we have to tack each connection multiple times carefully out of the car so as not to loose any of the geometry due to the welding shifting the metal. Most people don't realize how time consuming this is compared to having a normal muffler shop Mig everything in the car.
  3. Here's a pic. of his exhaust. http://www.turbohoses.com/ls2z.jpg http://www.turbohoses.com/ls2zexhaust.jpg There's more ground clearance than my 3" exhaust.
  4. I've had them for quite some time. I have two 15 x7 in my shop as well. I found them on Ebay about 3 years ago. A few weeks ago, a set showed up in a local listing, but I missed the chance to buy them. There are good and bad about the tire sizes as you don't have many choices in tires that will "stretch" over the width. The makes for a nice smooth ride but horrible, absolutely horrible handling.
  5. It all depends on how much this kit costs. I firmly believe in what you pay is what you get when it comes to things of this nature. I pretty much bought everything from James for my conversion. Aside from using some 1/8" to 3 1/6" pieces of steel and mig welding with a final powder coat (maybe they even used a can of spray paint), I think anyone that has minor fabrication skills could make the tranny mount for 15.00 worth of metal. All you need is a band saw, drill and have someone weld it together. Again, you just need the time and a little know how. Once I drop in my motor, maybe I'll make a few extra of my custom mount. H
  6. That's a great find!!! Just be patient a GNose will show up sooner or later.
  7. You still need special hood hinges to make it work. I think there's a guy out there that makes them. H
  8. that's the one. But it's not the complete photo. there's another piece that wasn't shown.
  9. I have a full shop and I take my Z's apart all the time. Not a big deal. Hoover
  10. I found a guy that had a Gnose in storage for the last 10 years and I bought it from him today. My new Z wasn't going to have a Gnose because of the lack of airdam usually associated with non IMSA Zs. I knew there were different versions of the Gnose and this one was a 2 piece at first. I loaded it into my truck and he came out with a third piece which took me by surprise. There was an airdam with this one and it looks great. I've seen all the renditions of modified airdams for the Gnose, but they all look aftermarket and this one looks factory. I know that at one time Nissan Comp. made a 5 piece front end, but again, it's very much unavailable. Within an hour I had the front end at a body shop to fix some of the fiberglass and paint the front end and it should be done in 2 weeks. If anyone is interested, I'd love to chip in and make molds of this set. I think it would be great to once again have parts that are no longer available. I'll have pics. once I mount it to my car. 11. Ok fellas... I was a little busy and didn't get a chance to cut the OEM mounts out. However, I found a pair of Recaros for sale this weekend and bought them from a guy that had them mounted in his Z car. To my surprise they fit in very well without any modification. The answer is not using the Recaro brackets for Z cars. Unfortunately, he didn't know the name of the place he purchased the brackets from, but he did say they were in Long Beach CA and specialized in seat brackets/mounts. All he told them was the type of seat he had and the car it was to be mounted to and 160.00 later a bolt in fit without modification. I'm sure if some one did a google search this place would be easy to find. Hoover
  12. VERY VERY COOL OF YOU!!! I do owe you one. I've got my car up on a dyno right now and surgery will begin after I finish tuning. You rock!!
  13. Great!!!! So I'm not just a poor seat installer and that's good to know... Ok...I'm a cuttin away this week. Thanks a billion guys!!!
  14. Hey All, I finally have some time to work on one of my Z's. I've always had a problem mounting aftermarket seats in both of my cars. They usually sit too high. I usually end up having to cut out the OEM mounting points and drill flat into floor pan. I've seen other people mount them and they seat well, but every time I use the brackets Recaro, Corbeau etc... provide they always sit way too high. I need some advice before I cut out the seat mounts in the floor plan. Help!!! Hoover
  15. Bring it by my shop in Dublin and lets dyno it. Hoover 925-803-1555

  17. Good looking mirrors, that's for sure! I think they were only 59.00 both??? But now there 75.00 per side. The have the convex mirror as standard. Oh well....here goes another 150.00 bucks and why not add the rearview convex mirror for 30.00 as well.....hmmmmm...now which credit card haven't I maxed out yet.....
  18. Hey Everyone, I bought a pair of ZG fender mirrors from Hiromi and they arrived yesterday. Does anyone know "where" they mount on the fender and how to mount them. It's not a simple as two screws. Theres a mounting bracket that mounts underneath the fender and looks like there are two holes (.72",.18"); the smaller one is use as a mounting guide. By the looks of it, here comes the drill... Hoover
  19. After tons of phone calls and emails (thanks guys) , I was able to find my 4" ID silicone hose in Red. Some of the companies have them in 3" lengths and prices varied from 12.00 to 40.00 per Can you say PROFIT!!! The majority of the companies don't stock 4" and told me it would take almost a month to get Unfortunately, 3" isn't long enough for my application, so I ordered a small bulk of different intercooling piping to get a discount. So before you guys buy your next silicone intercooler hose, email me for your application. I'll beat anyone's manufacturer's price.
