  1. Today I got to play a little with my tube bender and decided to try to do the main hoop for the Z. I haven't built the tie ins yet or cut the hoop reliefs in the roof and fenders. Will start building the tie is tomarrow night Enjoy
  2. My jd2 wheels around the garage doesn't take up space and have $700 into it total. That's all the metal for the stand the casters for the stand the air ram and die for it as well. If you want a quality bender that is going to last forever then spend the little extra cash and buy the JD2.
  3. JD2 does make 6 different 1 3/4" dies. They come in 90 and 180 degree radius and 5.5" 6.5" and 7.5" radiuses. Here's the link The die sets are about 3/4 of the way down the page https://www.jd2.com/p-44-m3-round-die-sets.aspx
  4. JD2 model 3 all the way. Yes the dies are pricy but they are some of the best quality you can buy. I love mine and just converted it to air and damn I must say it is awsome. I get 76 degrees with one stroke of the air ram. It is a harbor freight 8 ton air jack put on its side and filled w/ oil. Then bleed the air out of it and its good to go. It's diffenitly not the fastest way but you can be very accurate that way. Here are a couple pics.
  5. Yes the white car in the vid I was driving is Bills. He let me use it to get a track day under my belt to see of I liked it. It was a huge mistake. Now I am building one. My goal is to be driving it on track is September this year. Hopefully everything keeps going smoothly.
  6. Unfortunatly I haven't worked on the car since the last post. About a week ago. I have been waiting for parts now on a stand still pretty much so been adding some tools to my garage. Got a 8 ton ram for my JD2 mod 3 bender and built so custom mounts to make it work. I can wheel it anywhere I want to and use it now. Also just ordered my fuel cell and arizona z car brakes for front and rear. Here are a few pics of the stand and brackets I built for the bender
  7. After I got the kid put in bed went into the garage to weld in the new piece for the pass side rocker. Then smoothed it all out. Will hardly have to use any bondo. Also seam welded the pass Front and rear wheel wells and inside the strut towers. A
  8. Haven't worked on the car much. Did a little work on it today Been waiting for my seat and coilovers to come in so I can start doing the roll cage. I have faust about finished stripping the rest of the undercoating off the car. Just have to to one rear wheel well and around where the spare tire well is. I did start to take car of a rust spot on the pass side rear rocker. It was covered by bondo and as you all know I hate bondo to cover up do simple fixes. Here are some pics enjoy
  9. I think delta cams in washington does. Here's thier site http://deltacam.com/index.php
  10. Thanks!! Bill is more giving me info on parts. All the chassis work is my idea. I want a strong stiff chassis but not heavy either. If math worked out right I should of added a total of maybe 10-15lbs to the car before putting in the cage. I am going to be running the bare min interior and wiring so I can still drive it on the street. Going to be doing my own custom aluminum dash. And 2 Ultrashield seats. That's it. Keepin the weight down
  11. Finished up the rear subframe connectors tonight and stripped all the under coating off the bottom of the except the wheel wells and where the spare tire goes. Going to be doing a fuel cell so havent worked on that area yet. Also seem welded every thing except the wheel wells.
  12. Finished up boxing in the front frame rails today and got one of the rear sub frame tie ins done. Rear before attaching to rear sub frame
  13. Thanks! It been a long few months and it's going to be even a longer few months till is somewhat done. Shooting for the end of August to done with it. We will see though. Coilovers will be here this week and the seat should be too.
  14. So got the front frame rails boxed in today. Took a little longer than expected ran into more rust. But turned out a lot better than I thought it would.
  15. Started to make templates tonight to box in the front TC area. Doing 1/8 plate on the lower section and 18ga on the upper section. Going to be tieing the TC into the rocker. More pics will come tomarrow. This is all tonight. Kid didn't want to sleep.
  16. Was sick last week so. Back at it again tonight when I get home from work. Going to finish boxing in the front frame rails where they tie into the TC mounts. Then I should be getting my Ultrashield pro road race seat in the next week then starting the roll cage. Ordered the seat a little over a week ago and ordered coilovers Thursday. Once I get those I will take more pics.
  17. Finished the driverside floor today and also got some goodies today as well. Got 44mm SI valves polished swirled and under cut (intake) 38mm SI valves polished swirled and under cut(exhuast) New SI guides and seals as well
  18. Took a week off from working on the car. Been crazy busy at work. Currently working 6 days a work right now. Cought up on some sleep so back at it again. Last night tore down my N42 head to get it ready for the machine shop for some new valves, seats, guides and seals. I will be doing all the porting and polishing and cc matching the cambers. Then doing a .460 lift cam. Mild build for now. Got most of the driver side floor done this morning
  19. I am going to run a 225/50r15 on a 15x7 konig w/ a zero offset. To roll the inner lug of the fenders is fairly easy just take your time. Remove the wheel off the car to give you room. I use a baseball bat and hammer. Put the bat on the inner fender where the lip comes down the hit the bat w/ a hammer working around the whole fender and keep repeating until the fender is rolled. It is a timly process. If you can find some one w/ a fender roller they usually will charge about $100 to do all 4 corners. Call a few of your local tire shops they might have one or know who does
  20. Well Johnny you know the car in the Vid. It's bills car just me driving it. I bought bills spare car from him and as you can see going crazy with it. It work have the crazy power yours does but will still be fun. Can't wait to see you out there either. This build should be done by August.
  21. I am using 3"x1" .080 wall tube. It's light but very strong. Once I get the floors done then I will box the rails in at the TC and rear subframe. Then add 1/4" plate to a couple spots to give me some good jack points
  22. Got the drivers side floor cut out today. It wasn't in nearly as bad of shape as the pass side. So a lot less work involved.
