I have thought about it in my head for quite a while. I know of yards that have wrecked Q45's with full motor, tranny, rear end, ecu, and harness. Now it will be just like the sb350 swap, wouldnt it? Javv i dont think it is a bad idea. I myself would have replied if i had the slightest info on the swap alone. Sorry i called you "jive" and a "pud". Get your hands on everything you need for the swap. Then get it done. After that you can come here to hybridz and be one of the elite! you might also persuade me to follow in your steps.

to my understanding you cant really bore a 305 all that much because the coolant passges run differently than the 350. i remember helping some friends when i was in a 3rd generation fbody club. they had 305 tbi motors and i had a 350tpi. my motor was completely different. also to my understanding, the 305 was also offered in a 305 H/O. I think i would take the 305 H/O over the 350. It was brought to my attention that the 305 has a shorter stroke and revs up much much quicker and also can be revved higher than the 350. If you work that 305, then you coulc have a monster motor. david karey socalz prez

What i really want to do is drop a stock 350 TPI motor in my car. I had it in my old IROC and i liked it. I want the reliability of a stock motor and the accuracy of fuel injection. i know it will haul ass if i put in in my zx. I know David G. I think i might ask him a few questions when he has available time. Dk

ok im more serious about this then ever. i just got done looking at the Summit website and i found a Painless Wiring kit for the TPI i want to use. Has anybody here used Painless Wiring, and is it really east to install? Thanks

Man i am so sick of the stupid L28 in my car. I have learned everything about this motor over the last 2 years. I have changed it 7 times because it cant meet my demands of driving, and it goes! Im just gonna do the v8 thingamajigger. I used to have an 89 chevy IROC and i was very pleased with the power the 350 5.7 tpi system put out. So this is why i am writing to you guys. I need ALL info you guys can offer, pictures, articles, sites, ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!! Like i said, my L28 cant do what i want it to do! Also i have a guy with a 350hp turbocharged sentra se-r that keeps talking his damn trash. I think its time for major beat in the head for him! i was behind that big huge 4x4 z when he smoked an acura rsx at a light right when we all turned off of main st onto katella. lol it was great to see i child in an acura doing burnouts getting smoked. praise the v8 4x4 guy david karey

I drive the car (79 280zx with an 81 motor and harness) around the city everywhere. i go to and from, car runs perfect and idles at a perfect 800. i get on the freeway and travel for about 10 minutes or more and it starts missing. i can hear it missing more when i let of the gas just a TAD. when i exit the freeway and hit the red light, my car is stumbling and missing VERY bad. it almosts sounds sick. i will then proceed to ignore the problem ( i always ignore problems) and drive the car to my destination. within a few minutes, my engine is running smooth and perfect yet again. now this is driving me up the wall. i cant merely pop the hood and figure out thwn is wrong at idle. it only happens on the freeway and when i exit. now, i cant have somebody in the engine bay while im on the freeway, now can i? is that legal??? hmmmmmmmm *scratching head and rubbing chin*

the cage is SCCA legal. the car itself was used for SCCA races. i got the car for free.

I finally got a car i could screw around with. Its used to be an SCCA Z. yessir the car runs. the drivers door wont close all the way due to the damage of the quarter panel. i plan on giving it an L28ET. motor plans: L28 block flattop pistons P90 head ported, polished, and shaved get turbo rebuilt with ball bearing internals so tim, could you help me fix this? if i was to bring the car to you can you help me cut a piece from a donor car and weld it onto my 240? hahahaha this is gonna be my first real z car. i really dont like my 79 280zx david karey
