  1. mac products arent just for mustangs. i had a friend from saudi arabia that had a 98 camaro with mac headers before he went back home to saudi.

  3. im taking off the F/I and using carbs. what do i need to change? what do i need to do fuel pump wise? what else do i NEED to do to run carbs?
  4. yeah i forgot. its an l28 n42/n47 combo. its got the fuel injection on it right now

  6. a few weeks-2 months. thats about it. i need to grab some new parts and thats when i will stick the fuel injection back on. how do i fix a float? i can fix it and then give them back in good condition and cleaned up when im done. thanks
  7. hey guys i tried the distributor thing with my mouth. it works. im just fed up with this. i really want carbs until i get my new motor built and dropped in. i will then get brnad new stuff for the turbo fuel injection. im just looking for simplicity. believe me i have done everything and i know a great deal about the l28 setup but this one has got me. carbs for now. anybody wanna loan them to me?
  8. i umplugged the vaccumm hose going to the distributor. didnt make a difference. when im on the freeway it sputters like its running out of gas, but i can cruise at 80 no problem.
  9. it runs fine on the street. when i get on the freeway, after about 10 minutes it starts putting and missing. if i give it FULL throttle then it seems ok. but when i let off full and try to cruise, it starts missing bad. when i get off the freeway and stop at a light, it is running like it is on 4 or 5 cylinders. after about 5 minutes of street driving, it is back to perfect. i dont know what the hell is going on. ive been in that engine bay for days trying to figure out what it is. its pissing me off and i feel like redlining the damn engine and blowing it just to move onto my new motor sooner.
  10. does anybody in SoCal have a dual carb or triple carb setup laying around i can borrow for a few months? my F/I is giving me too many problems and i need something primitive. I will come and pick up if need be. Im in Long Beach and i promise you will get the setup back when i convert to all new turbo f/i setup. i also need the linkage. thanks guys. David Karey SoCalZ Prez

  13. lol guys the 2nd and 3rd pics i couldnt even see my tach. they look like pics straight from hell. i was using some slicks i had in my garage on some lightweight wheels. they were old, and i havent used them forever, so i said what the hell.
  14. im sitting here reading all this stuff on the 300zx efi swaps into earlier z's. All i wanna do it get rid of my 79 harness and EFI system and put in a 300zx na system and harness. i want the air flow meter gone. If possible, can somebody, or everybody please wite back to me and give me a step by step rundown? im going to the junkyard in the morning to get my parts for the swap. the reason for the swap is that i have too many problems with the stock setup and the AFM is just to hard to mess with. i have a fuel dilevery problem on highways, and if i fix that, i then have problems on the street. its almost unfixable. im just going to get my parts from a 300zx tommorow and wire it up and go with that. any info is apprieciated, but i prefer info on the entire swap from start to finish. thanks guys. system is 79 L28 N/A

    why does everybody talk about swapping motors all the time? isnt there more to doing a swap that the motor/tranny combo? what about brakes? id rather have myself a large set of strong brakes before i do the motor. how many guys here still have stock brakes with that big ass motor? Also the suspension is a huge factor in transferring all that power to the wheels and controlling it. Kinda sick of hearing people talk about swapping that 400 hp 350 into a stock z. you know as well as i know that the z just wont handle it. when i do my motor, i will take months of suspension and brake work before i even think of the power part.
  18. i think a car of that value shouldnt have "personal touches" added to it. that guy just decreased the value of the vette by 1)$1000 just for THINKING about drilling holes 2)probably $2000 for drilling the holes 3)about $500 to repair his broken nose when somebody punches him for such an outrage.
