Hopelessly Confused

hmm, I was just wondering becuase I have put around 8~9 quarts in it already.

By chance does anyone know how many quarts it takes to fill the 4l60E?

Yeah, this drivetrain is from a caprice. I dont believe that it was from a cop car because im pretty sure that they all came with those green radiator hoses and mine didnt. But as far as its acting it just seems that I can rev the engine but the car doesnt accelerate very much. I dont think I have gotten fast enough for it to even try to shift. The fluid is red becuase when I was putting the engine it all leaked out so I had to replace it all, and there was some fluid on the dipstick before I tried driving it. When I checked it after I drove it it looked kind of frothy on the dipstick.

its more like driving with your parking break on. Would this happen if I didnt have enough tranny fluid? Becuase im having a hard time figuring out if I have enough.

umm, I dont know if it would shift because I couldnt get it to go fast enough. I havent tried it in low yet.

Hey guys, I drove my car around the block today but while I drove it I noticed that while in drive the car had very little power I had to rev the engine up some to get it to move. It seems to work fine in reverse. Its a LT1/4l60e combo. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Hey guys, I hooked up my alternator like you guys said but when ever I hook up the battery terminal on the alternator to the + on the battery the alternator starts to humm. I have no idea why this would happen and was wondering if you guys would know?

Yeah, the cable is probaly a bit long but I got the shifter to fit in the orignal hole which worked out pretty well.

Yeah I already took it apart and figured that out but I dont know which one to use for a return and vent and the such.

This tank is from a ford focus. I just dont know what all the connectors are. Heres a pic.

Actually my shifter came with a cable, but I didnt get the attachements that hook onto the tranny. So I had to make my own. Heres some pics.

Thanks for your guys help, it looks like my tranny has a diffrent attachment on the side of the tranny then what came with the camaro so ill have to just make one.

Hey guys, I just got a shifter from a camaro and im not quite sure how to hook the linkage up to my 4l60E tranny. Does any one have some pictures on how this is accomplished? Im not sure if it makes a difference but my tranny came from a caprice.
