  1. I guess the only thing you can do in that kind of situation is kick the snot out of their car as they will probably just drive off anyway. LOL, you should have called the police to tell them that you were being assaulted by an Oompa Loompa.

One thing that irritates me to no end is people leaving shopping carts in the middle of parking lots, especially when they're no more than 20 feet from the cart corral.

  2. Ron,

Actually, the 2.4L is a prime candidate for turbocharging. My Hybrid engine uses the 2.4L bottom end with custom pistons, with the pistons being the only custom item, unless rods are opted for.

The rods in her engine are the same rods that are in the 95-99 Turbo Eclipse (GST and GSX) so they are fit for turbo duty. There are actually quite a few turbocharged 4G64's out there running the stock pistons, however.

Turbocharging her galant is VERY easy. The 4G63T exhaust manifold bolts right onto her engine, as does the 4G63T oil pan. After you get these two pieces you can bolt on your turbo of choice (for that application, I'd run a 2G T25, which can be found for about $100-200 off of the DSMTrader. Just plumb the oil lines off of the oil filter housing, leave off the cooling lines, build up a little bit of piping, run minimum boost and enjoy!!

  3. I'm sure they're right there with the SR20DET.

I have no problem lifting the entire head/intake/exhaust manifold ass'y myself. I also have little problems carrying the bottom end ass'y myself either...

I'm *guessing* right around 300-350lbs, but I could be way off. I wouldn't imagine any more than 400 tops.

I'll see if I can find out from people who have shipped the engines

One of the biggest advantage of running a 4g63 or my hybrid is the availability of parts is alot more abundant and it's easier to find upgrades for them here in the US.

  4. CobraZ,

You might consider the MSA from and rear skirt kit, like I have on my 280Z...

It gets rid of the front and rear bumpers and definitely makes the car look more modern...If this isn't quite what you're looking for, maybe we can look in other places...

  5. umm...so...should I get new plates that say "UNCLBNZ" ???

    spoiler1.jpg

Seriously, alot of import guys like my Z. I'm even in the process of converting a few of them...maybe it's the overly large wing ;)

Sure, not everyone likes it, some people hate it. To each their own. But, I think it fits the overall theme well...the key for me, though, is that with the engine mods that I currently have and the new engine that I am getting ready to drop in, I have the performance to back up the look in both handling and straight line...now, if I plaster decals across the hood and the side and if my engine/suspension was completely stock, then...that'd be different...

  6. Cobra,

Exactly what type of body kit are you looking for? Are you wanting a completely different looking car kind of kit, or something that just accents the Z's look (like a front and rear bumper, side skirts, and perhaps a spoiler?)

  7. Thanks guys,

I'm not usually a big wing fan myself, but, it looked decent in the pics, so I figured I'd go for it. It looks better in person, too. I'm going to have to retake some better pics this weekend, by the time I get home the sun is starting to drop a little low for ideal pic taking with my crappy digital.

I had wanted to try and get "ORGAZM" as my license plate (if AZ would let me), but...maybe I can get "UNCLBNZ" instead smile.gif

  8. Tomohawk:

You caught me!! I was wondering if anybody would notice that. I accidentally bumped it when I got in the car to grab the camera!!

Thanks Scotty. I'm not sure if fibreglass will protect me much...but...I guess every little bit helps huh? hehe...I guess I have to do something to keep Tony happy (he said everybody's car is starting to look like his!!) and make mine look at least a little different than *most* Z's.

  9. If I remember right, the 4G63 Starions over there are all SOHC, right? Are they the same 4G63's that are in the EVO series for you guys? From the sounds of it, the Aussie Starion 4G63 is completely different than what we have. Our 4G63's are like what is in the Galant VR4 and EVO series. It sounds like your 4G63 is little more than a G63B for us...which was put in our Mighty Max.

Regardless of that fact, the 4G63 powered Starions over here (using the DOHC cylinder head) are all performing very well. A few starions running 4G63's are running 9 and 10 second 1/4 miles.

There are a multitude of 9 second 4G63 powered DSM's and even a few 8 second 4G63 powered DSM's. a JDM EVO VI came with roughly 320hp (although, on paper, they're limited to 270hp). With little more than a boost controller, exhaust, intake, and proper tuning, it's not uncommon to see a 3200lb DSM running 13.xx's.

Now, granted, a 4G63 will not have the low and mid range torque as an L28, but, if you build the stroker 4G64/4G63 hybrid, you will have L28 type torque, but still have high horsepower capabilities. It all really comes down to the L28 head design not being overly horsepower friendly.
