  1. thanks man, i could have done it better, it was just a 10minute job.

i used to run no bumpers on the front, it looked cool...but it definetly looks better with a bumper. imo i think the grill opening is too big to not have something split it up...

  2. S30' date=' that is a really awesome looking rear valence, mind is on it's way being exactly like that. What did you do about the bumper mounts and the body seams? Did you cut out the rear frame section and replace it? Have you had any problems with the paint over the seams cracking? My rear valence is far from straight so I'm thinking of cutting it out and either fabbing a new one or straighting the existing one.

the pic above is just a photoshop, all done on the computer.:D

  3. i don't think that Z32 would be that sluggish, they are heavy...but the VG accounts for a substantial amount of thier wieght. i think that SR20 is a definate upgrade from the VG30DE...

here are some weights i got off of some other web sites.

    stock N/A Z32 = 3200lbs.

    VG30DE w/ tranny=475lbs.

    SR20DET W/Tranny=328lbs

so the Z32 above would come in with a weight of around 3053lbs, which is still on the heavy side... but with a few bolt ons it would make quite a nice power to weight ratio...

on3go, i have seen a few pics of that white z32, it's definetly bad ass...

  4. I bet the 350Z has lift as well' date=' seeing as it's so TT-like.[/quote']

i doubt that. Nissan spent alot of time testing and tuning the aero dynamics and downforce of the new Z. also, i don't understand why everyone thinks the new z is a tt rip off. to my eye they share nothing other than a rounded roof line.

  5. i can awnser a few of your questions...

    1) there a 280z for sale near my buddy. it's got a FI motor in it (not sure if it's running or what it is)' date=' body/frame are rusted. but it's got a number of upgraded suspension parts (springs/swaybars, etc), racing seats, and fiberglass hood that might be useful. only asking $500neg for it. seems like a good parts car, but only if the parts would be compatible one day with a 240z??

    [/quote']

Most suspension parts on a 280Z aren't compatible with a 240Z (springs/struts), Racing seats could be transplanted into a 240Z, and the hood will work.

    2) i read mention of GTO kits on z cars. what is that? i only know the old Pontiac GTO's lol.

Gto kits refer to the Ferrari 250 GTO, check out the kit car forum for more info.

    3) what are some good catalogs to get that carry Z parts?

Victoria British is good a good magazine, tho kinda pricy. Motorsport Auto is another good catalog.

    4) what is the largest (or perhaps best performing) size rim/tire/backspacing combo on a 240Z?

If you want big wheels you will most likely have to setup a coilover suspension as it allows for more clearance for wheels. i hear that the best performing tire size for a car the size of 240z is a 225/50/15, but i'm sure others on this board will disagree with that.

Can't help you with the V8 questions, others will chime in about those questions probably.
