  1. If I had all the money in this hemisphere, I'd buy a 917-30 Porsche, and an Interstate of my very own! After all, it's just a used car.
  2. I am in southern Oregon. Jackson county. I have enough trouble just getting my vcr to display the right time, without having to figure out how to program an engine's computer. Besides, I'm an old fart, and I feel comfortible with old technology. Also the heads I have are huge, (210cc intake port vol) and Hilborn injection passes a lot of air. Besides, there is something really vicious about those ram tubes sticking up through the hood!
  3. I've been reading this board for a while but this the first time that I have posted. I am building a 406 sb for my '84ZX Saturday Night Special. I am looking at a lightened forged crank, aluminum rods and flatop pistons. I have a 400, four bolt small block, a set of Brodix-10 heads and a Joe Hunt Magneto. I would like to run either Hilborn mechanical Injection, or else four Weber carbs. I realize that the Hilborns won't idle, but I can live with that. I am not sure that the webers won't be really hard to keep adjusted. (I have no experience with them) So here is what I need to know: 1. will the Hilborns make as much power as EFI?TPI? 2. would it make more sence to go with the webers? 3. What should I do about a cam? (other than eating Vettes and Mustangs, I plan to only do some autocrossing. This car is NOT a daily driver)
  4. I am planning to drop a 400 sb in my 84zx. This is the engine I have planned:
  5. I have an '84 300zx, and a bunch of parts left over from when I was young and rich. I am tired of Cameros and that ilk so I've decided to build a strong 327. I have a good block, a lightweight Callies 4340 steel crank, a set of Manley aluminum rods, with JE forged lightweight pistons. The heads are Brodix -10 aluminum I: am just not sure about what to do for a cam and rocker arms. the fuel system is Hilborn Mech injectors, and fire comes from a Joe Hunt mag. I have all this stuff lying around, but like I said, I just don't have any idea what to do about a cam. Any ideas would sure be useful. I know that wsith the Hilborns that I won't get the idle down below about 2500 rpm so that doesn't bother me. Also the -10 heads have large ports (210cc port volume) This is going to run through a Scheifer alum flywheel, and a T-56 if I can find one. I have installed a used Halibrand quick change rear end. That is about all the info I can offer.
