  1. I am a BMW fan (currently have a 06 330 ZHP) which is why I went with the Z3 seats. I looked at the e30 seats, but the ones I looked at mounted from the side and looked to be a pain to mount. They may not all be that way, but just be aware before you buy them off eBay. I got my Z3 in leather, with heat and power foir $150 plus shipping. They fit like a dream and really don't weigh too much more than the stock seats.

  2. The guy that had it on eBay lives close by here and is the brother of an old friend of mine. It has been listed a couple of times and did not sell. Maybe he will list it again. I will try to get a hold of the guy I know, but I have not talked to him in several years.

  3. I have BMW Z 3 seats in mine (or will when I get the interior done)...leather, power and heated. Fit nice on custom mounts. Seat belts are intergated into the seats.

  4. I moved back the the Portland area from Colorado. I loved it there. I was in Fort Collins, which is almost always in some poll of the 10 best places...to golf, raise a family, retire...you name it. It is a college town with very low crime...one hour to Denver. It does not get too hot in the summer, which lasts 6 months...but so does winter...it is not that bad. I golfed and rode my Harley every month. It can be 70 in January. It can also be -20...but it is a dry cold...Seriously, I have been much colder here at 35f and raining then -10f in Colorado. Average home price is around $260K. Great schools and city parks.

  5. That is almost the way this turned out. I was on a plane when the eBay auction was to en. There was a lot of activity on the car and I put in a max bid that was only $500.00 more than current bid. I figured I would not win it, just based on the activity of one person. When I got back to Portland and turned on my PDA..."Congratulations..." I was really surprised. Turned out the other guy who was bidding got messed up on the end time for the auction. HE called the seller and said, "if this guy backs out.." The seller said, "He used to own the car, I doubt he is backing out". The rest is history.

  6. Thanks for the kind words. I really put my heart and soul into that car. I like the LS7+6sp combo, but I am going to enjoy it for the summer and research my options. It is nice to have the time and money to do it right this time. When I did it the first time, it was my only car and I ended up doing the flairs one at a time over about 6 months, while driving it daily. Just finding wheels that would fill the fenders was a major task...This WAS before the internet. All word of mouth. Funny when I think back on it.

  7. Hi...I owned this car from about 1976 to 1997, when I sold it before moving to Colorado. I moved back the the NW a couple of years ago and had been looking for a Z again. One morning, last month, I was searching eBay, when what did I spy? Well, I paid too much but I now own "my car" again. It is just a shell, but I am working hard to get it on the road for summer. The plan is to put a 280 drivetrain in it to get it rolling, but the "BIG Plan" was always a SBC. Maybe next winter. Just wanted to share my story and to say I think this is the best site. I have already learned a lot. Good to be a Z-car owner again.:D
