  3. I sanded then etched primed the chrome, painted black with a matt clear coat.......I didn't like the chrome on the car at all, I wasn't too sure about what colour to go for at first, then saw this grey on a ford focus, and asked the owner if I could get the code from the car. Cheers, Jay
  4. I just used the standard rear spoiler found on the 240 and 260.
  5. Hi, Im using 255/40 /17 on the rear and 235/40/17 on the front.
  6. I have those exact same springs on my 2+2, they work great, car lowered by about 1 1/2". the ride is a little bumpy on the back roads where I live but in town its fine. http://s256.photobucket.com/albums/hh183/datsun-jay/?action=view&current=myz006-2.jpg http://s256.photobucket.com/albums/hh183/datsun-jay/?action=view&current=myz009.jpg

  11. Well I for one dont have a N42 head.......anbd as there are only about 5 z cars in Ireland I dont have much chance of getting one either........I do however have a p90a head which is why im using that.. Does anyone know what compression ratio a f54 block with 86.1 flat top, p90 shaved 0.080" will give? Thanks, Jay
  12. Hi I dont mean to take away from this thread but im in a very similar position......building an l28 motor (f54 block) and also using a p90a head with solid lifters.......Im going to use 86.1mm flat tops, shave the head 0.080" and use tower shims, also have a msa stage 4 cam, not sure what CR im going to have tho, I was lucky enough to get shims off a guy on the forum, Thanks
  13. I paid 2500 Euro, thats with tyres and shipping from the UK to Ireland......A bit pricey but I think it will be worth it, Here's their website, all their wheels are made to order, you give them the dimensions you want and they will make it. www.imagewheels.co.uk
  14. I just ordered there today, just have them in 4 weeks as they have to be made........rear 17x10.5 -19 offset front 17x10 -13 offset. Jay
  15. Yeah I think im going to have to shave it 0.080" and use cam tower shims.........seems to be my only option now, know anywhere that sells shims for the l28?
  16. Im building a l28 motor at the moment using f54 block, p90 head and flat top and want the smallest gasket I can get to help raise the compression........I seen the one that MSA are selling but thats way too dear for a head gasket....... Jay
  17. cool, thanks for that, I'll go check them out now? Are their gaskets any good?, that seems very cheap Jay
  18. Hi all, I'm having trouble finding somewhere that has a 1mm or 0.6mm head gasket in stock for a l28 motor (f54) block, Found one place "gasket world" that had one but when I gave my address as being in Ireland they never e mailed me back Iv'e been searching and heard alot about felpro but cant find their website. Can anyone help? Thanks, Jay
  19. thats what I swas on about, Argon, especially pureshield argon is an asphyxiant.......which in my book is dangerous. Although I doubt anyone here would be welding for long periods of time or purging pipes, Its just something to keep in mind thats all, Jay
  20. I have used all 3 and they all give the same quality, well I have noticed no difference anyway, either on carbon or stainless, Only difference I notice is when pulsing, the yellow tip tungsten cools quicker but thata a good thing, Also when tig welding have your gas flow as low as passible, the argon is as bad as the stainless and tungsten dust, Jay
  21. Hi all, I have a 260z with a worn out l26 motor, I got my hands on a l28 motor (f54 block p90a head solid lifters) Im going to use an E88 head that I have instead of the p90a, I have the motor stripped down, The block doesn't need to be rebored just honed and would like to keep it that why if possible. I was wondering is it possible to get standard size 86mm flat top pistons to increase my CR. This is my first rebuild so if anyone has anyother sugestions please feel free to advise me, Thanks, Jay.
  22. Granted stainless is not good for you but........when sharpening you tungsten, its the dust off that that is very carcinogenic. I weld stainless for a living and never use grey tipped tungsten's
  23. its only the grey tipped tungston that is carcinogenic, the yellow tip ones are fine........ Jay
