  1. I built both circuits as suggested by the megamanual. The megamanual directs you to set up for hall/optical input for the - coil trigger. only that there will be no timing control with the - coil trigger. they indicate that with both circuits installed you only need to alter a couple jumpers and a few more minor mods to alter dizzy input. I will be able to verify a few things that macambra mentioned at first later today.

  6. Hey all, got my MS2 all soldered up and things were looking pretty good. Until i decided that i just wanted to control fuel at first... So i had the board set up for VR ignition at first but decided that i wanted to go to a turbo dizzy instead, at that point i priced said dizzy and decided that at first i would use the negative term of the coil for my initial learning curve and just control fuel. So i added the circuits required to run the -coil lead and the jumper changes to go over to the hall/optical input. When the VR circuit was hooked up i had almost everything working in the tune studio when i moved the pots on the stim. After the hook up of the hall/optical circuits i had the opposite, nothing would change when pots were moved. Although when i unhooked the stim, moved the pots, then re connected the stim the values moved in the tuner studio. I started running through troubleshooting and got most of the way through up until looking for pulses out of the cpu pins 21 and 22. At those pins there is a solid LED on the tester and solid LED at D14 on the ms board. On the stim the PMP light is on bright. I never did get any tach signal to the tuner studio even before the changes. I have pulses from the stim at the "Tachselect to OPTOIN" jumper. I am driving myself crazy here, i am not an electronics guy so i feel a bit like maybe i screwed the pooch!! Anyone got any idea what the hell i did??? Thanks, D~
  7. Very cool! I will check into that stuff, I might also look into building my own. I need to research the pressure the system needs to run right, i have a couple regulators but they are for some of my old v8 carburetor fuel systems. They will work at high pressure, just not sure how well. Might need to do some more research!! I love research... Should have some pics of my ZX up pretty soon. D~
  8. Went back and reviewed both your builds, Cool work!! I am liking the new build!! Wish i had the cash flow to get mine up and at em quicker!! Where did you source your fuel rail? and does it come with a different regulator or use the stock one somehow? D~
  9. Can I hook up the fuel lines a different way with the regulator at the end of the line, then return?? that would eliminate some of the clutter in the fuel area. If there is no major issues with any of the goofy valves,(other than the IAC) I will just do some pluggin and yankin. I can fab any odd plates and covers i may need. And the IAC can be re located to underneath or off to the side somewhere i think. I will dig in a bit more once i go lay my eyes on a FSM. Thanks for the help! D~
  10. been searching on here and xenon for so long my eyeballs are getting googley!!! I guess i need to figure out how to narrow down my search parameters. All i can find when i do a search is manifolds for turbo cars, I am not sure if there is a difference between the turbo intake and the N/A one. Any advice?? D~

  12. is there still a lot of decent tire options for 16" tires? i was kinda leaning toward 17s for street and possibly 15s for track tires. i just remember the 16" tires being the red headed step child of the tire world. (no offense meant toward red heads!) D~
  13. 79 280zx 2+2 with 83 block and head. doing all the body work on it currently. Which includes properly fixing the rust that has accumulated. Just purchased a mega squirt kit for it but am in no huge hurry to start another phase of the project yet. This is my first Z car and so far am liking it. Traded off a honda to get this car. Only bad thing is i am not autocrossing right now since i traded away my autocross car!!! Budget is fairly tight but am able to do most of the mods myself. Really like this sight and forums on it. Very good resource! D~

  15. Hey all, I have a 79 zx non turbo. I am getting ready to do a mega squirt change up on it. I have searched the forums for some suggestions for what i can leave on my engine and what i can get rid of. Not having too much luck, not sure what wording to use for search parameters. Mostly i am looking for a wiring/vacuum schematic for the emissions and fuel injection system to help identify the sensors and assorted valves that i can remove from my engine an not make too many issues for myself. I want a clean engine compartment. I would like to remove the clutter. And in the spirit of crap on my engine i am not familiar with... What is the valve on the throttle body underneath?? appears to have a vacuum line on it?? Any direction for resources on here or any other sights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! D~
