  1. hi!

I need a complete wire harness for my 73 240z. preferably in exelent condition, but as that might be hoping for alot i will even settle for one i have to repair. As long as it is in it original pieces and i can get away with changing out individual threads i will consider it.

    Best regards

    Arnulf

  2. As someone said above Mercedes TD engine :) in a Z!

Get yourself an om603.961, the 3liter, or like i have in my G om603.971, 3.5liter(rodbender, apperantly, min hasn't). Modify the pump with larger elements and get yourself a bigger turbo. Job done. On second thought you wanted MPG, leave it original.... modifying leads to more power end less MPG :P

You can use almost any mercedes manual gearbox from the 80/early ninties. The engine and the head is aluminium and the dimentions of the engine are very similar to the L engine. tonnes and tonnes of tourqe.

Someone mentioned something about reliability of european cars/engines...... Italians and the Brits are responsible for the bad reputation of European cars. The Germans are incapabel of doing something halfassed, it makes no sense, at all, to claim that American engines and cars in general are of better quality than anything out of Germany. I am sorry, i could not let that pass ;)

Funny to see someone want to make a diesel Z. apart from it being the fuel of the devil that is cool :) i will NEVER do it myself, but this being hybridz and all, good luck :D

    Merry Christmas

  3. Well then :)

I found my back ups of the files who died with the previous laptop, they have been sent to Heroez for uploading :) Des hamil book in pictures, not low quality scans :) Dellorto carb manual and some weber stuff....

I am reading the word document shared in this thread and i can't help to notice that the graph seems to sugest that dhla40 is too small for L24 never mind the L28? I am building my l28 and i am slightly worried? but not so moch as it seems the 40 are more than enough for the l24 by far. any thoughts or experiences?

  4. I want to join in on this thread, i have some .pdf files for these carbs, how can i upload them here?

I am running dhla40 with the largest chokes available. 36mm??? My car is otherwise as described in the signature ;)

The car has a rough idle and is difficult to coldstart, once its hot it idles rough. It somties just dies out, but start right up.

I have the Crane firball xr700 ignition setup.

It somtimes bakfires through the carbs at low to mid range rpm. The exhaust ignites on the overrun. Between 4500 to 7500 it screams like mad, and runs REALLY WELL. when hot the throttle respons is just rediculous to me, i think it is super fast compared to my old Audi S4 V8 which isn't slow either.

It seems to me like the DHLA40s supplies to much "soup" for the L24 i am using right now. I hope it will sort itself out after the L28 swap, of cours with a full service of the carbs as well.

i have tuned them so they suck in the same amount of air.

  5. Looking for triple Dellortos. Let me know what you have. Thanks.

i have some, wich won't be going your way across the atlantic ;)

but i am curious as to why you want those instead of the myriad of triple webers offerd on hybridz already?

    just wondering :)

  6. DO WANT! I hope we get new rules for building cars in Norway this year, and if we do, I'll purchase a chassi. 600kg car with a 400hp 3,2l stroker with tripple webers would be fun (or death trap) ;)

F our rules! my chassie is looking for a new roof! and now it will be carbon fiber! New doors glass outside, carbon inside, carbon hood and hatch :) and then some other glass parts! :D

Btw haajehaa, the law is getting changed, you can start planing your build by next summer ;) you can bet that if i don't get my car road legal it is going on a diet for track use only :)

Shipping over her is not at all bad :) and i expect that there is a survivable market here in europe.

This got me realy exited! woopi!

  7. Are there parts from other cars that will be compatible with our cars? and is there anyplace i can find a list or something to display theese options?

Forinstance, i heard there are diffrent radiators meant for other models that will fit directly into a Z without modifications? Also, wiper motors and such.

How about suspension parts from S13/14/15 cars? Other parts?
