  1. A good alternator should charge around 14V, I would say an absolute minimum should be 13,5V. Normaly they are labeled 14,8V. If this is the case, I would check; cable from alternator to battery, AND engine grounding back to the battery. I had problems with the alternator and regulator so I trew them both out and bought a newer alternator with an internal regulator(easier to wire up) it should be easy to find one that fits. If the battery holds its charge over night I would call it good, you can test it yourself, if you sort it with a spanner or something while you measure the voltage and the voltage doesn't drop below 10-11V it is fine, don't take to long with this if you decide to do it. If the car dies while you are driving and you stil meassure 12,3volts on the battery I would think the problem is elsewhere...
  2. If I am not mistaken, I seem to remember the fan pulley and fan being attached to the waterpump. If it wobbles and overheats I would check my waterpump also. There should be a hole in the waterpump that will release water if the pump is broken/worn. Has it lost any water?
  3. I have bought the entire interior fra jan. Very high quality. I am sending an entire chassie to him next. Looking good einar
  4. I have been wanting to do the same. It needs to fit the stock fuel filler hole. Beyond that it needs to be a gas tank. Following this thread.
  5. Happy New Year from Oslo! Cheers!
  6. Good luck with that. I used a qwick wire set, it wasn't all that good, so i got myself a complete set with swiches, conectors and all from a 72. I am considering making a fully custom harnes myself, still undecided. I live in oslo, but my cars, are in hønefoss
  7. Very Nice! where are you? i want to come by and take a look I bought the same dash from Jan in regular leather i also got the rest of the interior bits though
  8. I have those and I would not let them go for less than any Weber Dcoe 40mm sets for sale. Just my opinion.
  9. There are some good 510's around these parts Prices are rediculous though. I saw one recently in full BRE conversion.
  10. No decisions needed You have the V8, why would you need a silly L24 powered thingy next to it It will just cost you lots and lots and lots of money, better to cut you losses and send it my way I'm dead serious by the way
  11. Sweet! I can try to be patient Are we talking 2013 or 2014 here? Meanwhile, a garage is being buildt either way. Waiting Waiting Waiting... "Are we there yet?"
  12. I am offering the asked price of 1K USD for this 1970 240Z A plan has come together. Due to the difficulties registering my 73' slightly modified Z and the ease of registering this 70 model, this is what will happen. I am selling my 73 to my old man who has been green with envy for some time, he wants it all original. With a combination of the parts on the car already and some from this one it will be all original again and quickly back on the road under the historical vehicle paragraph it is registered by at the moment. I will keep this one, and it will be given the neccesary bodywork, ZG flares with the apropriate front wing, the stroker with triples, rb gearbox, r200 and the full, custome, leather interior intended for the 73. Back on the road by easter if i am lucky To do all this, we are actually building another garage to function as workshop! and we already just build one this summer! I am very enthusiastic about this. So, pretty please, let me have it and help me get it here i will pay for any expences. Shipping came in at 1395$ from California. 3 minor issiues remaining: -Title and bill of sale -Getting it to drive on and off a boat -getting it to the boat The current transfer rate on the dollar makes this "cheap"
  13. I found shipping, Calship will do it Sunroof fixs seems easy enough when you have a spare roof, like me Intense waiting on reply to PM
  14. Z on ice? not in this country I would't The roads are salted during winter to a such an extent that the roads are dry at -10C sometimes. Mostly snow and ice turns into super corosive slush. My 73' hibernates from October to April when in use, it has been sleeping for two years now wich may be enough to declear dead it will rise again, but likely not as a roadcar. On the otherhand, we do make ice tracks on frozen lakes and rivers for fun and games. Skinny tires with "swede" rally spikes and you are on your way cooling won't be an issue at least. Does anybody know any good shipping companies based in the area where this car lives? Calship.com is getting a quote for me now. Jetcarrier is stil an option as they will delivere to my doorstep. Finn-us logistics, will check it out Peter smits didn't get me anywhere by google Others?
  15. Really? 1500$ Jetcarrier has online prices on their pages, they ship from the east coast and take 1460$ from a US port to Norway, 1000$ extra for crosscountry shipping from California. They where cheap when i shipped the Stroker over by rowboat. On top of that com expedition charges and taxes. I might need to talk to my relatives who import directly from california. Still, I need to know more about the condition of the body.
  16. Yup, IF it isn't rotten, and IF i can get a reasnoble shiping deal i am on it A problem solved for me, the other shell can og into storage for future use or become a flower box or what not...
  17. Aha, My shipping company wants 2700$ for taking that car from Long Beach to Oslo for me... that seems a bit steep if you can get a car over to Rotterdam for less than half. Still, Pictures an such, general conditon?
