  1. Year One crate engine advertised as a 400+ hp engine. Dyno results I end up with 236 at the wheels. Seems I lost 100HP in shipping.
  2. Long story shortened, had 1st V8 car loved it, traded for a "better" V8 Z ended up not being "better" but worse. Bought another engine that was "better" but ended up not better. Third transmission, after trying to find a true automatic. Now have totally rebuilt turbo 350 trans and a brand new Year One crate engine with 400 "dyno" horsepower. If this doesn't give me 350 Hp to the rear wheels lots of parts are going up for sale! Do or die this Friday!
  3. well since 240's don't have "boards" the material is glued directly to the inner roof. The best adhesive I have found for this is made by 3M. If you can get between the panel and the roof shoot in some adhesive and press it back in place.
  4. I've done a couple GM 350 swaps. 280zone@cox.net
  5. and cross posting is frowned upon.
  6. I know a paint and body guy that would graft in the "chevrolet" from stock valve covers into body panels.
  7. and do not throw money at him. After the honesty approach, show up from time to time and ask to see how it is progressing. Ask him how it is going, what problems has he run into, and what is next step. He will get the message you want to see something started and finished. Throwing money at them takes away the incentive as the money will get spent and they see no pay off at the end of the project.
  8. The issue is who is a fault and to what percent. Did the other driver have a stop sign prior to entering into traffic? If so they are only allowed to enter the the road in front of you when it is safe to do so, obviously it wasn't safe. Her insurance company is going to ask you what percent of the accident was your fault. Your answer should be derived by how closely you were following the speed limit based on the existing conditions.
  9. I have some $20 shipped 280zone@cox.net
  10. I guess I am out of luck on the axles huh? pm sent
  11. based on a bathroom scale test one requires about 35-40 pounds to compress, the second one requires 45-50 pounds to compress. 280zone@cox.net
  12. Link should have go to this part number. CT350PC1 I'll start with reading the vigilante link, thanks
  13. If memory serves me correctly, the curve goes towards the front of the car. Just the opposite of what you would think because the bar "wraps" around the hangar bolts oppositely.
  14. What is your configuration? Is this fuel injected? What order are the components configured? Tank, pump, injectors/carb, FPR, return line? Or Tank, pump, FPR, injectors/carb, return line? Or no return line? You say you are getting plenty of psi, is that Fuel pressure? If so where are you reading that? Electrical or manual fuel pump?
  15. Grumpy, I got the previous head question answered and now have a new one. I am about to swap in this engine into my Z http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?hid=026DK73488&trk=12 I am running a slightly built (shift kit only) turbo 350 trans and the R200 3:54 rear end. My goal is streetable car that will turn low 12's in the quarter. What would be your recommendation for the stall speed of the torque converter? Thanks in advance for your insight.
  16. I think the 240 and 280's are different. I have a 240 one but no way to test. Let me know if you are interested.
  17. Thats weird, that switch looks so aftermarket but I have the exact same switch in the same location, it's for the antenna.
  18. I have some extras for a great price.
  19. Not sure if that is close enough though.
  20. Pm me for details and price.
  21. The 700R4 will fit right in if the TH350 did. Being a novice at the 1/4 track I prefer the full on auto trans, no clutch, and no shifting, just push and it GOES!
  22. My question relates to a 60's era 327 SBC and reasonably priced option heads. Based on the block number it appears I might have a 60's era corvette 327 small block with stock heads (Motec says the engine came with 60cc chambered heads). The question is would a set of 70's era 64cc camel hump heads (1.94 1.5 valves) be a good choice to have rebuilt for a combination to create around 260HP? Any suggestions for cam specs and carb size with that target in mind?
