  1. Chris, Yes a vacuum leak will cause a lean condition. The bad news is that leaks can be a lot of places.
  2. They can be either 4 or 5 speeds in 78. And of course there was the automatic too.
  3. Cool, now the link is working! That top looks pretty cool, keep us posted as the project progresses.
  4. Just drill out the center of the rivet. Usually the top will pop off and the back will fall out.
  5. I tried again and still nothin : (
  6. It says there are no photos in your album.

  8. I know two people that have used the Zolatone and one guy clered his and the other didn't. The one that didn't has problems with dust accumulation and is hard to clean. It may be that there was a difference in the way it was applied since is was two different people though.
  9. If you decide to go this route make sure you clear coat it otherwise it holds on to the dirt real well.
  10. To smooth the rear end I removed the bumpers, bumpercaps, bumper shocks, along with all of the side marker lights. Then cut metal patch panels to cover all of the holes. Once those were welded in place the whole panel was given a good grinding. As you can see here. http://zdriver.com/rides/detailride.php?cat=1&relIdx=16&vehId=42 Then skim coated the panel with bondo and then polyester spot putty. I had an expert body guy sand it down for the proper look. I have other "in progress" pictures if you are interested I can email them to you. Thanks for the compliment.
  11. Well, I am not sure what year your car is but I did this to my 75. The 75 is the worst year to do this to because they have the most holes and indentations. http://zdriver.com/rides/spec/pix/280zone_1038551597.jpg
  12. Can you tell us what you did and the parts list? Also what headlights did you use? Thanks
  13. I think I can come up with a spare set. email me directly at 280Zone@cox.net and I'll look on Sunday.
  14. My experience has been very good with him but I am sure he can make mistakes too. The screwdriver method is a good way to tell if the injectors are firing but that doesn't always mean it is the injectors it could be several other things, but that where the experience comes in, he usually starts people out with the most common problem and work through to the rarest cause to the problem. As you replace things keep the old parts so if it wasn't the problem you will have spares for the future.
  15. I have the Toyota calipers on the front of my Z and my 4Runner and have not found that there is any anti-backing problem when installing new brake pads. Are yours old, new or rebuilt?
  16. Yes Coyote Gary is the one, I would be surpised if he did not recommend a fix for what he found.
  17. If you need additional help look us up at www.DesertZAssociation.com One of our members is a 25+ year Nissan Mechanic and offers several of our members expert advice and diagnosis. You can email me directly if you would like his contact information. 280Zone@cox.net
  18. Before pulling the injectors I would verify adequate fuel pressure, it might be the fuel pump or the fuel pressure regulator.
  19. If you need pictures of the Pantera rear deck I have a few from other angles. Just drop me an email.
  20. I have one but it's not for sale, I have looked at getting a mold made to make more but it is rather expensive. Az Z car wants to sell all of his molds in one deal not seperately : (
  21. The fiberglass panel is not going to provide you with the same structure as the original steel roof. But it is your car, build it like you want it. And as for the vent discussion in previous posts, don't forget the vents are in cars to let the air out when closing the doors. Out cars probably have plently of other holes that will accomplish this by now so it may not be an issue.
  22. That is VERY impressive, I wish I could have seen it in person.
  23. Once you have drained all or most of the fluid out of the system, it takes awhile to get all the air out, but that doesn't sound like your problem. If you have fluid coming into the car at the brake master then that would be that the seals must be bad or damaged during install. Otherwise try to determine exactly where the fluid is coming out, it has to be the master seals or a fitting somewhere. Once you find it it should be easy to fix.
