  1. Just one thing, if any front spoiler you want attaches to any part of the three piece front valance then it won't work easily. The 240 design is different than the 280. I speak from experience so feel free to ask me any specific questions.
  2. I gotta admit the lightning bolt lightning bolt thing cracked me up, I am still laughing when I think about it. Sledge hammer Sledge hammer AK47! LOL
  3. One other thing, we might need a way to update our information as things change.
  4. www.kitcarz.com but from what I understand after talking with them the molds have been sold.
  5. Remove the 2 (one in front and the one in the back) screws and disconnect the wiring harness. It then slides right out. True it is easier if the steering wheel is removed. I pulled one from a Z in a salvage yard through the drivers sider window, (the door was smashed so I couldn't even get in the car). The car might have had a smaller steering wheel I don't remember for sure.
  6. I just gave them a good pinch with needle nose pliers until I had it broken into small pieces, and then pulled out the pieces. Two of the smaller guages you can remove the face without removing the needle, So I think I did remove those faces.
  7. I have had all of the guages out and apart of my 75, 77 & 78), it is not hard to do as the dash does NOT have to come out. Speedo and tach come out the front, the other three come out the back. You will need to remove the heater control panel and pull the center console back a bit. I was also able to remove the green shields without taking the guage faces or needles off.
  8. Count me in, I submitted my info, Great Idea!
  9. Sure, I could add the stock vents but what fun would that be? : )
  10. I have been thinking along those same lines, I have a 75 so I don't have the stock hood vents. I am fabricating some forward vents on my hood about where you are talking about. I haven't had the car on the road with them in yet but just thought I'd share.
  11. I am thinking that looks pretty sharp. Have you replaced you tail light gaskets?
  12. Dave, that sounds like some pretty good timing, it should be cooled down by then. I am not sure what type of hassle you will have with emissions, possibly Lone or J Welch can help you with any tricks they have.
  13. Dave, does this mean you are now here in Phoenix? If so bring your car out to our meeting next week. www.DesertZAssociation.com
  14. If you get the right year Toyota calipers it is a true bolt on. Only requiring the trimming of the dust shield. Use the 79-84 Toyota pickup calipers if you plan on keeping your Nissan rotors.
  15. True the DZA is lacking a strong showing of Hybrid Z cars at the moment, however we do have one of what I would consider to be one of the best Hybrids I have ever seen and a ZX that has a sweet LT1 conversion. Not to mention that I have been toying with the idea someday as well. It would be nice to see some more of these cars from time to time I would love to pick your brains and benefit from your experiences. Feel free to look us up at www.DesertZAssociation.com and stop by any of our events. I can also hook you up with a good deal on the conversion parts you will need. Robert DZA President
  16. If you are interested in seeing them installed on cars, check out Zdriver.com and take a look in the rides section.
  17. If you mean the annual Z car convention then yes it has passed.
  18. I saw that too! But they didn't mention the price. Looks like a serious engine though. What happened to the other guy on the show?
  19. The problem with the LED replacement lights is that the light is not diffused very well so it looks like one small light inside of a rather large lens. I modified my 75 tail lights by buy a few of the long LED brake light strips and breaking them in half (so they are the length of the lens) and running a couple of strips in each lens. That way I could retain the stock look tail lights but the modern look of the LED instant on and instant off look I was going for.
  20. Keep asking around, sooner or later you will find someone that will shoot it for that price. Ask at local paint shops for some recommendations, they usually know who is available.
  21. I used wet/dry 80 grit to get some real thick paint off, I also used the aircrat stripper on a couple of panels. If I did it agin I think I would use the aircraft stripper, but it is messy. Sand blasting with the plastic media might be a good option too, but harder to do at home.
  22. There is on in the classifieds for $20
  23. If you are trying to cut corners this early in the game you might want to look into a different project.
  24. I think the paint code for the light blue is 510. I removed the bumpers and am welding over all of the holes. http://zdriver.com/rides/spec/pix/280zone_1025393754.jpg
  25. Here is a recent thread on that subject. http://zcar.com/forums/read.php?f=1&i=284442&t=284442
