Try these guys, http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_catalog/manual_transmission_overhaul_kits/nissan_f5w71_overhaul_kit.html
This was the only place I could find that carried the 5th syncro.

I noticed the same thing when I installed my Eibach springs, I had to install a 1/2" spacer at the top of the rear springs to level the car out.

Tony, I do follow. The gas filter idea is brilliant, I'll try it and post the results, thanks so much.
Leon, I think what I have is a Cannon clone, I remember checking when it was off the car and there was no internal balance tube in the supporting structure.

Tony, that's interesting and could make thinks a lot easier. What form of restrictor would you recommend?
Thanks,
Chris

I have a standard Cannon intake manifold with triple carbs on my L28 engine, I have also installed
a 123Igniton programmable distributor and would like to use the vacuum advance feature.
Would 4 vacuum take offs from the 4 inner intake runners be enough to even out the pulses or should I take vacuum from all 6 ?
Thanks,
Chris

duragg, I'm rebuilding my 5spd at the moment and was told about this thread, just read it this morning, Fantastic.
Thanks for taking it to the end and showing all the failures as well, that is where the learning is.
I think someone at Drivetrain.com might be reading this thread, I just measured all of the key slots on my original, WORN 1983ZX syncro rings, .170". The same measurement on the new Drivetrain syncro rings is .155" . Now I don't have to file them!

I will be building an L28 this winter, nothing radical. If I can end up with 170-80 RWHP I'll be very happy.
I read somewhere in the archives that the flywheel from an L24 was considerably lighter and would work on an L28.
Would like to know if this is true and if so are there any problems that should be looked out for?
Thanks,
Chris

# 01955 here, 1970, just bought it about month ago. I bought it with a mind to modify then I started thinking maybe I shouldn't be so fast to "wreck" a low production number car. After all, there seems to be these guys out there that will pay silly sums of money for original stuff (I'm not one of them) I soon found out that it wasn't all that early and since the floors were rotted out, well...I might as well go ahead and do what I like. I love having the vertical
defroster lines and the back vents but only as a talking point. OP, it's a Datsun, designed as a sports car for the
average guy, it will never be a worth a lot. Grab one and have some fun.

Thanks guys, I found the word that unleashes all of the good stuff from the archives "reinforcing".

This has been covered hundreds of times here. What are your plans? 300HP? 400HP? over 400HP?
Sorry, I'll search harder next time, 300hp will be fine, no tracking just a great weekend car.

Hi guys, I've read several times that the 280z is the better/stronger body to drop a V8 into but just came across
Bad Dogs site http://baddogparts.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_8 If I were to weld in Bad dogs 240z rear rails or even his 280z rails, wouldn't I have enough strength in the frame to handle the torque of the V8?
Thanks,
Chris

And that same Kia door seal works perfectly on the rear hatch as well, this the 3rd year I have had Kia seals on both doors and hatch with no problems. Hard to beat $10 at the wreckers.
