  1. I found some more Holset Maps Hope this helps some of you guys!
  2. I can't believe that! This swap is amazing, and the amount of time you did it in makes it even more so! I gotta tip my hat to you! You have any pics of the engine mounts?
  3. I have the same setup on my BBC Corvette, I got mine from Pete Jackson. I can't speak for Firion_13 though. This swap is pretty cool, more pics!!!!!
  4. I'll be damned! That's very interesting mating a Chevy V8 to a Nissan Automatic, I've never seen that done before! I'm subscribing to this thread!!!
  5. I read a couple months ago about not being able to put a truck engine into a passenger car on the DMV website. I'm with you zgeezer, I'm droping in an LQ4 into my Z32. If I could get it legal I would try to get it legal, but, I don't even have a chance. I guess I gotta pay off the smog station to see a VG30DE under the hood and pray a cop doesn't see under my hood.....
  6. I can tell you right off the bat that in Cali we can't legally put a truck engine into a car or a car engine into a truck.
  7. I'm gonna go with the HX35s! I know you have the hookup with turbos, olderthanme, what kinda $ am I looking at for a pair of these?
  8. I've got an LQ4 (6.0 Liter) I'm gonna turbo and I can't decide if I should go with two HX35s or HY35s. I've been searching and learning more and more. Everytime I decide on one I start thinking that the other would be better for me! I keep talking myself into one, then, the other. So, I figured I'd ask you guys. Which would be better? All I really have planned for the car is Drag Racing on the strip and Aggressive driving on the street. Here is the car it's going into.
  9. A high mount like that would work, the Ford and Chevy turbo diesels are mounted like that. I know you can't see the turbo on this Silverado but it is under the black plastic thing that says: 6.6 Turbo Diesel There is a Ford F-350, you can easily see the turbo! Are you gonna be running an FMIC? If you don't like the turbo up high you could do a rear mounted turbo like the STS guys are doing. With the STS the weight would be low, centered and as far back as you like.
  10. Here is the map for the HX30 from Holset courtesy of rustrocket. If anybody needs a bigger copy in .pdf or JPEG form just send me a PM. vbmenu_register("postmenu_782169", true);
  11. I found another compressor map for the HY35, anybody have one for the HX35 or HX40?
  12. I found another one for the Holset HY35 anybody have one for the HX35 or HX40?
  13. I'm swapping a Gen IV V8 into my Z32 and I was wondering: Will the stock Z32 TT fuel pump push 60 p.s.i.?
  14. Anybody know the size of this plug right above the oil filter? I have a custom dry-sump system and I am just gonna hook the pressure line up here. 98 LS1
  15. I checked those Quartermaster bellhousings out, there crazy!!! Unfortunately I'm sure those will be out of my budget. I think you, grumpyvette, may have hit the nail on the head with those Lakewood bellhousings. I need the bellhousing to hug the block like this.
  16. Who makes a smaller bellhousing? I'm doing a LQ4/T56 conversion on a Z32 and I am trying to get the motor and transmission as low and close to the firewall as possible. I'm looking for something like this:
  17. I've been reading about the HX35's while I wait for my Turbo book to be delivered. The more I read about the HX35's the better they look. Anybody have any opinions on this?
  18. I'm on the forum over there too as xXxSilveradoxXx, I have just touched the surface on the Forced Induction section over there. I have been working like crazy lately (put in a 15 1/5 hour day yesterday) I'll have to print out the whole FI FAQ section and read it at work!
  19. I just ordered that book, it should be here on Tuesday! I'm also looking into those Holset HX35's, I'm just learning about turbos so I'm not really sure what I'm looking at!
  20. Don't worry bro, Sharing is my middle name! I figure I'm gonna start a thread on the buildup in a week or so when I'll have a little more time off. I figure it'll be interesting for you guys and will keep me motivated! I really should buy some better turbos, I guess I'll look around a bit but those Z31's will be on the back of my mind... I'm not sure what kind of headers I'll be running right now, I've got some F-Body, GTO, and truck headers sitting around right now. I'm gonna see which ones will work best for what I wanna do. As far as Diesel turbos, I don't think that would work.
  21. I'm currently dropping a Dry-Sumped LQ4 (Gen. III 6.0L) into my Z32. I'd like to twin turbo it before it hits the streets. I got to thinking that I need a cheap turbo to use to design and fab up the manifolds and such. I figured 1/2 of a 6.0L is 3.0L and as we all know the Z31 was a 3.0L single turbo. My question is: could I use two of these Z31 turbos on my LQ4 for a while (year or two) until I get my new motor and better turbos? Would it work?
