  1. I was emailing some guys from sds about installing a new efi system and they mentioned that I would need a new tps sensor but instead of buying just a tps sensor (for around $70) I should just hit the wrecking yard and get an early model 240sx 90mm throttle body that has the tps already installed. Is there any large benifit for installing such a massive tb or should I just get a new tps sensor and forget the larger tb? '82zxt engine in a '75 body without emisions control.
  2. Clifton can you post a short clip of the log in excel for me, thx.
  3. I emailed the guys over at diyautotune.com and asked their opinion which MS system would fit my application the bes tand what other parts I will need. Here is the list and quote that I recieved for the parts: MS130-C $330 Assembled Megasquirt-I with V3.0 PCB MOD_130IGBT1: Single Ignition Output through IGBT (VB921) $20 MSStim22-C $69 Assembled Stimulator MSHarness $65 12' wiring harness IATwPiggy $21 IAT Sensor 38NPT-Bung_S $8 Bung for mounting IAT sensor (steel weld on, or JB-Weld on) TuneCable $6 6' DB9 tuning cable USB-2920 $20 (Only needed if your laptop doesn’t have a true DB9 port) Subtotal without wideband-- $539 Is there anything missing from the list that would be helpful to have or necessary for a Z? Is there anything listed above that I probably do not need? Widebands are quite expensive, anyone know an alternative to buying one?
  4. zmanco, how long did you install take?
  5. Sounds about right, I only get to work on it on the weekends for about 6 hours a day. Are they any suggestions about the best dealer to buy the MS from?
  6. Ok thank you for that info there. Missed the engine components forum. On a stock '82 zxt motor about how long would it take to install an MS for the first time?
  7. Will be purchasing either the Megasquirt or the SDS system soon but I would like to know the benifits and detractors of both systems. Searched around here for awhile and found limited info comparing both. MS replaces the cars current brain correct? Does SDS do the same as well? Atm, my daily driver, 1975 280z w/ '82 zxt, is suffocating due to the AFM so I need to get rid of it asap so I can her back on the road. I like the relative ease of installing the SDS but the price of the MS is so atttractive. Does either one work better with a turbo motor over the other?
