  1. If you were closer I would be willing to probably go as high as $4000 but Canada is a haul, buy a house, best investment you will ever make.
  2. Interesting, I know they a good following amongst circle track guys here and alot of the domestic V8 guys running them around here, but had not heard a bunch of guys in the RB community running them, good to know, thanks. I received mine last week and has a black coating on the skirt. Do you have any idea what company the skirt is done by? Do you ever have your crown ceramic coated, any negatives on this? I have heard people telling stories of how the ceramic coating came off the crown, got blown through into the compressor blades, found this hard to believe but what experience do you have with these coatings or just steer clear. Thanks
  3. Very interesting Matt and thanks for letting the "cat out of the bag" so to speak. I was wondering why I had not seen this return oil mod on all high hp RB's. Another point, is that I have heard everyone and their brother talk about, if you punch out the block to 87mm, the walls will "flex" because of material thickness of the cylinder walls. Good to know that once I rebuild after 86.5mm, I can reliably run 87mm and not have worry to much. I was wondering what you thought about Wiseco pistons?
  4. Great post and thank you sir for sharing your knowledge with others, I have found that most people with the know how, never want to share, which I guess is some what justified but thanks again.
  5. 93 Oct. all the way, I did not want to go past 22 - 23psi, I am scared of oil pump going out, anyone run past 24psi on stock oil pump, that was my biggest concern. I have started putting a dry sump system together but is going to take some time (and money).
  6. I was expecting bigger no's too. I have read guys making mid to high 500 with similar set ups or is that bogus? Anyone here running a similar set up making bigger no's?
  7. I have a stock block and head R32 motor with a Garrett GT42R, 1000cc RC injectors, Bosch 044 pump, HKS fuel rail, Apexi FC and a few other things but absolutely stock motor. So, with no tune I put down 452 RWHP @ 21psi. I know car is running rich but did not have wideband hooked up at the dyno. Are these no's low for a car with these mods? I know with a good tune I should be able to see 20 to maybe 30 HP but again, I am being told these no's are low with a GT42R..........any input would be appreciated. Here is bad quality dyno of it. Thanks for input Larry
  8. Here is a little info done by a very reputable company that builds the fastest EVO's in the country. I know of someone who is running a single 044 pump and puts down 598RWHP. I picked up my 044 for $160, can't beat that. I will enventually be going twin but plenty of pump on my 452 RWHP car. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1238595
  9. That's funny, I have worked with people like this. You draw your pictures and talk about how you are going to get it done, all the while I have come one day closer to having fun in the car. There is always more than one way to do things. Live and learn
  10. Thanks for the link Jerry. Look forward to trying it out, seems a decent price do your own tuning. Larry
  11. Hey guys, my car came with a decent tune, a little rich, but OK. I am about to upgrade turbo and would like to tune it. I have heard of the Datalogit, but do not know any other details. Does it come with the Power FC software or would I have to find the software also, which I heard was practically impossible to find?? Best place to buy from? Thanks for the help Larry
  12. I realize this thread is old but curious to the outcome to this...... Any updates you care to share? Thanks
  13. No worries, I know you are probably half frozen up there in Canada, thanks for the help though. Have a good new years, take care. Larry
  14. I think it could be the igniter, are RB26 and RB25 igniter's interchangeable, I would think so, if they use the same coil packs right? Thanks again for the input. Larry
  15. Motor is completely stock including injectors. Never had any problems and slowly but surely problem has gotten worse.
  16. My somewhat daily driver RB25 240SX started to, what I like to call a stutter or miss about a month ago. First only did it now and again, always seemed to start when car is fully warmed up, but has started to do it more often, even at idle you can hear small hick up in the rpm. My first thought was that it was an ignition problem of some kind. I pulled the coil packs and checked the plugs, all was fine, so I thought must be one of the coil packs. I replaced all coil packs from my other car and still does not cure the problem???? Could this be an igniter problem? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks. Merry Christmas to everyone by the way. Take care Larry
  17. Thats hilarious, unfortunately I have to have this. I would rather spend the coin now and not have to worry about it. I guess we pay for peace of mind. The hotter the clutch gets, the better it sticks, love it.
  18. For a carbon clutch, this price is decent I thought-$2157 and thanks for the info on the tranny.
  19. Well, after much deliberation with members here, few other sites and some local guys, I decided on Competition clutch as my next source for my new clutch. There customer service I've heard was second to nun. I talked to Chris H, told him I needed a clutch that would hold 600rwhp with good drive ability, to my shock he suggested a company called Carbonetic. I thought this was odd, so Chris continued to tell that Comp. was the sole distributor of Carbonetic clutches in the US. and that they make a great product at a very reasonable price. So I ended up getting a twin disk Carbon clutch, cost me an arm and a leg (I am a poor carpenter) but he promised I would be happy with it. I called them Friday, clutch was at my doorstep by Monday afternoon, customer service at work already. I have not installed yet but will knock it out this weekend. I need to know how many quarts the RB25 tranny takes, anyone know, thanks guys. Sorry about the long write up but just wanted everyone to know about this great company.......and maybe throw some pics out there. Larry
  20. I have a RB25 and RB26 and have driven several RB20's and just think they are down on power. I would rather run a SR20 motor and save some weight but that's just me. If you can add a couple of hundred bucks to step up to the 25 motor, you will be a very happy camper or the 26 for that matter. Good luck.
