  1. Seen the above on Instagram, keep up the good work!
  2. Thanks for the info guys, its definitely over fueling. You should see what comes out of the exhaust! NewZed your suggestion about the TPS could be correct. I spent a little time testing some of the components with a Muti-meter and I got a fail on these: Idle Throttle Switch (works at full throttle) Air Flow Meter failed a continuity test (resistance test 2) Passes other tests though Air Regulator and Fuel Pump Circuit failed Air Regulator Circuit test failed Cold Start Circuit failed (however I may have tested it with it still unplugged ) Andy thanks for the picture. I will pick up my AFM from my friends garage and inspect it tomorrow. So currently im going to look down the path of getting a new Throttle Valve Switch, and to get the contacts AFM Cleaned up. Unless anyone can shed anymore light on the situation? But thanks for the info guys, also now have the service manual for a 76. So will be going through this too
  3. Hi, My 76 280z has a serious over fueling problem. I can only get the engine to start and idle when the Air Flow Meter is disconnected. It will run for a few seconds, however it will run very rich. The engine will then flood and stall. After a bit of research its seems that there could be a few problems. One being the cold start Thermotime switch. However the problem still occurs when the cold start injector is unplugged. The other possible causes could be: Throttle Valve switch, (possible idle problem) Air Regulator (however from research this helps with cold starts, and is not prone to being stuck open as it usually gets stuck closed) Faulty Air Flow Meter (from research these do not tend to go wrong often) I have the Fuel Injection manual so will being going through this over the next week. But if anyone can help with additional information, or let me know if im on the wrong/right track. Thanks
  4. Sorry I know this is off topic but Conedodger do you have any more details of the guy in Dubai who is restoring a Z? There are many in our region but more and more keep popping up
  5. So I have continuity from the coil to ECU. Have read on a different forum that the tacho needs to be connected to enable the injectors to fire. Not sure if this is true but I will check the wiring just incase
  6. Sorry for being a bit vague It's a 76 280z and I'm not getting a ground from the ecu. And yes I've done the zx upgrade with the distributor, and have removed the orginal igniter which sits on the passenger side of the car. I have a spark but will check the ecu wiring Thanks for your info ill let u know how I get on
  7. I seem to have a problem with my injectors not firing. This problem has only started since I have upgraded to a electrical dizzy as my stock one failed. I have checked the basic wiring and all seems to be good, it appears the ecu is not sending a siginal to the injectors. I have power at all of the injectors. Does anyone think that the problem is connected to the new dizzy? So far I have replaced the fuel pump relay and my next idea would be to replace the ECU Any ideas would be great, Thanks
  8. Yep this car had a 5 speed swap done by the previous owner. I have been using 5th gear up until yesterday! Looks like I may have to track down a new box then
  9. Whats the easiest way to check? Reverse is fine, along with all of the other gears
  10. Hi, Wondering if anyone can help. Havent had my 76 280z for long but it has developed a problem. I can shift into 5th gear but I get no drive and its like I have shifted into neutral. I have no mechanical knowledge when it comes to transmissions, but does anyone have any idea what could be up? Would I need a whole new box? I have had my worries about the diff as the gear changes have always been very clunky and rough, usually when I come off the clutch. Thanks
  11. Im not really going for the hellaflush look, although im not against it would make it quite impractical. Im just looking to get rid of some arch gap. So it looks like I need to track down a set of BZ3099's then. Would be good to still see some pictures of yours though, as I may be looking at going down the 17inch route later on
  12. With Tokico Illumina struts? Sounds fairly low, dont suppose you have a picture of the ride height? Im just about to go down the GC route with Tokico Illumina struts, and I am on 15inch wheels but was worried that I wouldnt be able to get it low enough. Not a fan of my current arch gap situation!
  13. Can I ask what sort of drop you can expect with GC Coilovers? I am looking to purchase them but I am unsure if they will give a good enough drop as I am running 15inch wheels
